You can't know that.
The price could easily be reasonable, and I would think it is.
"Too much" for a 23 year old top 6 forward is basically Monahan or our first. I can almost guarantee you could get Kadri without giving up either of those.

There is not a chance in hell we are getting Kadri for anything close to those weak offers.
Baertschi and/or Brodie have to be included and it may take both.
The Leafs aren't going to trade a 23 year old Top 6 center for UFA's. Throwing in Gardner as well is just insane.
If we trade for Kadri as Resolute said we are trading something back that most fans will not want to give up.

He is a 23 year old former 7 overall pick who has put up 67 points in his last 85 games. He isn't going to come cheap. Yell really loud in the forum and he still isn't going to come cheap.

You're right I don't know for sure however I can speculate which is what I did. I don't think we have the assets to make "reasonable" price offer. Cammaleri plus Backlund plus a pick? Too much IMO. After that what do we have that could get him? Our first plus Stajan? I just don't see it, not with how close they are to the cap.

Our cap space is our biggest bargaining chip. We can afford to trade them a player (Cammy) at a bargain cap hit and still take additional cap back.

I don't like that he takes liberties with his stick, I HATE it when players give little slashes as a means of deterrence.
Still, hard to say having him would be a bad thing, despite him not being he most likeable.

The worst part of the trade was that the flames did not get Drouin, TO did. We ended up with Kadri. If Tampa wanted Cammi and were offering Drouin, there would be no need for TO. Why am i trying to explain, or take part, this far far far fetched fantasy?
