The hate the guy gets here is absurd. He is putting up points well beyond his salary grid. Two points is just fine for most players on most teams.
Where is the grief for Jones?
Or Cammalerri?
Or Others?

And the love that other players get is even worse. It's the new world order, points no longer matter, advanced stats are what it is all about. ie. Gretzky's 215 point season was pretty good, but Esa Tikkanen clearly had the better season that year (as proven by advanced stats!)
GlenX has potted nearly 25 goals / year the last 3(still on that pace this year?) It's all about Backs, the non face-off winning softy, that "pushes the play"?

Agreed. I thought this was possibly Glencross' best game so far this season. Granted it's still not as good as we've seen him play, but he seemed very engaged, pursuing the puck, finishing checks and setting up good scoring chances. And not a single drop-pass to nowhere.
I know he's got another gear that he can still hit, but I don't think he deserves any criticism for his play tonight.

Byron-Backlund-$4M Jones
Bouma-Colborne-Jones
Galiardi-Reinhart-McGratton
That was easy

That forward group would be lucky to score a goal every other game. Terrible.
Thank god you're not in charge.

The amount of love the guy gets after one solid game despite playing like hot garbage the other 90% of the time is what's really absurd in all of this!
He did have a good game, but let's see if he can string it together like years past... So far this season the whole has been very meh...

Well they did score 3 tonight and were held back by the guys I'm suggesting we push out. Either way this season isn't about how many goals we can score, we're not making the playoffs so get something for these guys, get a decent pick and see what comes next.

In his last 8 games he has 6 points, is a +5, and has won 51.2% of his faceoffs.
But don't let that stop you. Hate On!

The PP at the end might have cost them a win.
But the PK at the end also saved them a point.

Actually that bit in the shootout where Byron almost lost control of the puck - I swear he faked that. The camera angle from behind the net makes it look like he nudged the puck to the side and picked his stick straight up before "regaining" control.
Whatever. It worked.

I think GlenX had a great game. But if he scored 5 goals and 5 assists tonight I would still tell you he has been wayy off his pace this season and I would LOVE to see him traded for a 1st +.
IMO we should ditch Cammalleri, Glenx and Stempniak. I would say lets get rid of Stajan but he is a C and not as undersized as Camel or stemps (keeping in mind the size/positions of the youngsters coming in next year)
We have a lot of good young LWers in the system and its probably our strong point along with goalkeeping. So I'd like us to move 1-2 LW on the top lines to give Gaudreau + Klimchuk/Poirier/etc a spot or 2 to be on the roster for opening day 2014. I would accept a 1st(+?) for GlenX, 2nd for Stemps and a 1st + for Cammalleri.
Dont want to hear this will turn us into edmonton - because im sure our gm and management have learned a LOT from edmonton on how not to rebuild a team. We will surely sign a few veterans this off-season, regardless of if we make any significant trades.

Hard to believe were 1 point behind ottawa with a game in hand. if we were in the east we would have a serious chance of a playoff spot.
Not sure how I feel about the oilers getting a better draft spot than us this year...

Play hard and play to win. The hockey gods will reward the flames in the long run. Maybe they'll win the lottery on a long shot and get the first overall pick while finishing ahead of the oilers.
The flames are 2 wins away from jumping from 26th to 17th in the NHL... mostly passing eastern teams. It's frustrating seeing how much easier it has been in the east over the years. I think the flames would have been a playoff team every year except last year if they were in the east or if simply the top 16 teams by points were given playoff spots.

Why is it that Colborne looks like he has wicked hands at some times and bricks at others.

So why do we have to exchange one hate for another? And why does hate have to be irreversible? (I like Glencross, and Backs has been playing really well)

I didn't get to watch the full game either and I definitely agree with Killer Carson. When CP people hates a player, that player cannot do anything good in their mind. I read the Calgary Herald and Glencross was picked the first star of the game. So, i am puzzled on why people are still not happy with Glencross game last night.

Cammy has been brutal for a couple weeks now, not just last night.
In the last 12 games he has: 1 Goal, 1 Assist, -11. With the PP time he gets those numbers are unacceptable.
He just doesn't work well on the Stajan-Stempniak line though, would like to see him on the Backlund line.

13 points in 32 games this season.
29 in his last 64.
These are respectable numbers for a top-nine centre. Why not just evaluate him based on his play and production, instead of through your filter of blind Backlund hate?
