Russell now up to 100 blocked shots on the year, good for 2nd best in the league.

He has been really good all round this year, really hope the Flames sign him to an extension.

Already at 10, and I bet he surpasses 20 this season if he stays healthy. Too bad MacKinnon got hot while Money was injured, but maybe he can make another push in the Calder race.
I don't see any way the Calder finalists aren't MacKinnon, Monahan, and Hertl. Monahan probably won't win but I'd be a shocked if he isn't nominated.

Missed the 1st and 2nd period but caught the Monahan goal and OT. I thought Ramo was pretty good on the shootout and can't blame him for that winning shootout goal. That was some sick move. I thought lost the puck but I guess he just let it slides so he can push it forward.
I am glad Hartley scratched David Jones. I hope that will fire up his butt and start using his big body next game. Even though Ramo played well enough, i got the feeling Hartley will switched with Reto Berra and I am fine with it.

just finished up watching the game.

Great game to watch. Man, i am just getting giddy if this is backlund rounding out. Would be amazing if he continues this and solidifies 2nd line C status on a regular basis.

good game by the visiting team, nothing to hang your heads over.

Why is it that Colborne looks like he has wicked hands at some times and bricks at others.
I didn't watch the game so I can only go by stats, but when I see Glencross getting called out after tallying two points in the game, I have to ask WTF?

The hate the guy gets here is absurd. He is putting up points well beyond his salary grid. Two points is just fine for most players on most teams.

Where is the grief for Jones?
Or Cammalerri?
Or Others?

Quick we need to trade Cammalleri and Stempniak before they hit the minus twenties like yakupov.

Why Jones? He was solid. It isn't his fault Hartley likely got some orders from Burke. Cammalleri has Bourque syndrome. He only shows up for CBC and TSN games. He had one of his worst games as a Flame but kept getting ice time.

Glencross was just fine tonight though I agree.

Glencross had a good game for the most part.

But his lazy play on the PP in OT, not pursuing the puck, caused the Flames to lose the zone for about 30 seconds

Monahan tried something new when he shouldn't have. Should've just kept to his "money" move and he could've ended it.

My beef in this game is with Hartley though. What was with that powerplay line in OT out there for 3/4 of the PP? Hudler and Monahan should be out there not Blair Jones, what the hell? You could tell that line had no finishing ability from the get go, yet Hartley drains away our chance to put it away before the shootout with stupid lines.

Classic Hartley.

And they kept trying to setup B Jones for the one timer?!? What?!? I didn't understand that at all either

I can't claim to know what's in Cammy's head, and I missed the game yesterday so I don't know how he played. But, to me, it looked like he was out there playing hard, but not the kind of game we expect from him. He looked like a little guy trying to play like a big power forward and that's just not his game. His game is finding space and putting the puck in the net. He's ineffective as a physical player. I know Burke has made his comments about getting bigger, blah blah blah. But to me that doesn't mean there can't be small guys out there. It means that if you're small you better be playing a role and putting up points. Maybe he's worried he doesn't fit into what Burke wants. I don't know. But if he's not scoring goals, I don't think there is much else he can do.

Colborne under 7 min; Byron up to 15. World turning upside down, or meritocracy finally more than lip service?

I'm referring to the $4,000,000.00 Jones.

$4M Jones was a healthy scratch tonight. Finally.

The "trade line" went combined -9. Thats right they were on for every goal against.

I don't know why this line has't been broken up, they are de-valuing themselves.

Yup. Put Glencross back with Stajan and Stemps and find another line for Cammy.

They are almost Eberle-Gagner-Yakupov bad

Stajan -11
Cammy -15
Stemps -17

by far the worst 3 forwards on the team

Those 3 basically need to be traded ASAP. Right after the trade freeze is lifted.

We have 2/3 of a line sitting out as a healthy scratch. Call up Reinhart and go with new lines.

Glencross-Monahan-Hudler
Byron-Backlund-$4M Jones
Bouma-Colborne-Jones
Galiardi-Reinhart-McGratton

That was easy
