New York sucks too. Well some of their kids are alright.
Richards and Nash are overrated (although people were starting to realize about Richards). Oh, and so is Lundqvist. King? More like Queen.
They'd get creamed in the West.

Well done third rate network.

I'd take most third rate networks over Sportsnet. Almost be better off it the Food Network or The Home Shopping Channel were calling the games.

They're getting creamed in the east, let alone the west.

Oh yeah, and have to say Cammalleri was the worst player on the ice tonight. Needs to be a ton better.
That whole line was terrible.

Its not puzzling to throw B.Jones out there. People have been screaming that the players should earn there ice time. He has , in a game that has been physical you throw someone out there that does not get thrown off the puck easily.

A bad game by Cammalleri, Stajan and Stempniak. Their inconsistencies are the reason I can't wait to see them gone.

They can be effective but, in a hard hitting game their size is really a factor.
EDIT: upon reflection I do realize that byron is smaller, perhaps they need a mental retune to be top notch players in the situation.

Monahan's goal was so sweet.
Already at 10, and I bet he surpasses 20 this season if he stays healthy. Too bad MacKinnon got hot while Money was injured, but maybe he can make another push in the Calder race.

I'm pretty sure Hartley chose to use Blair jones and stempniak in the 4 on 3 during overtime cause he wanted right handed shots. The 4 on 3 that the flames had during regulation had players switching position a lot and it even had cammalleri playing as the net front presence instead of the shooter. Not that I think the powerplay in over time was any better but I'm pretty sure that's what inspired Hartley to do that.

You win some you shouldn't and you lose some you shouldn't.
Entertaining game, and once again, the Flames worked hard and demonstrated that they are not the doormats that pretty much everyone figured they should be.
7-3-3 against the east
8-4-3 with Gio in the lineup

Once again....
Tanking doesn't guarantee success...good GMs find gems anywhere in the draft.

It's pretty sad when a non-sports network like OLN put on a better NHL product than a Canadian sports network.

there are a number of pieces that could get us something. Stempniak, Glencross and Camalleri especially. Hopefully we get back a top 6 forward that can hit and score for any or all of them, our top 6 is embarrassingly soft and that has to be a large part of the blown leads.
The smaller forwards can't slow the opposing teams momentum through the neutral zone and we get run over when their top 6 starts to turn it on. I wouldn't blame us losing the lead on our skill or discipline and more on how easy it is for the other team to get past our blueline. You simply can't expect every player on the ice to be perfect for 60, we need some legitimate intimidation out there and not one guy that gets to fight their enforcer every once in a while. We need grit that can help win games and slow the opposing teams forwards down when they start to press. There's gotta be one 200+ pounder top 6 forward we could get.

No doubt. Oilers, Panthers, Thrashers, Chicago the first time...well, there's a whole pile of examples of tanking poorly.
I don't mind the Flames in a win/lose scenario though. If they win, great. If they lose, that's fine by me. The team is in a learning process and as long as they try to win games with what they have and aren't mentally packing it in, it's all good.
What I'm not sure I can stand too much is if they play a Coyotes-esc system and still lose.

Makes downward thumb accompanied by bowel movement sound..
I'm a right handed shot, doesn't mean I'm gonna put the game away for you. Put your damn finishers out there. Jones and Gio/Butler/whoever on the points, did absolutely nothing creative out there to justify that approach. Honestly one of the most painfully predictable 4 on 3 powerplays I've ever seen..

Would have been nice if Monahan could have ended it. Cammy as well.
At what point would we consider putting in Berra for the shootouts? Ramo made a couple of saves this time around but Berra looks much more imposing out there...

Classic Hartley.

To be fair Jones reportedly has been dynamite on the PP in Abby and basically was the triggerman down there scoring several slapshot goals. If he can be that same threat for us then great. If not then Hartley will stop using him you'd think
