Well at least if the Flames nab Benning, they'll be nabbing a guy who'll have watched and learned to love Johnny Hockey being from the Boston area.
As for Futa, I was talking with someone today and was preetty sure Futa won't be allowed to talk to other teams until they get one more draft out of him. Orange Julius stuff I know. But it makes sense.
Also, the Kings don't owe Calgary anything for letting them talk to Sutter. He was of no use to Calgary.

If anything, depending on what Sutter's contract status with the Flames was, the Kings helped the Flames out by hiring Sutter.

Hahaha, I will blame it on being on the phone. Maybe I should leave on that Tapatalk signature.

So lets ask ourselves would Joe Nieuwendyk or Michael Futa build a Brian Burke like hockey team?

The more you say the more it makes me question the validity of your original rumour.

Well that is rather unfortunate, perhaps I should heed your advice, saying less is saying more sometimes.
Thanks.

Nieuwendyk has all but been eliminated from the possibility of being the next GM, yet you just listed him as a frontrunner.

So glad Burke is in charge of finding the new GM instead of Ken King. We'd probably be another three years behind with King in charge as he wastes another opportunity at finding someone.

Normally, the scouting staff are relieved from their duties in the summer after the draft when teams are going to make a change. They may be crippling their draft by changing them mid-season.
I fully expect Button to be around right up to the draft, and I give it 50/50 as to whether he stays or not. The new GM I am sure will be working with him closely, and will make his decision in time.
Anyone know how long Button's contract runs for?

Not sure how long Buttons contract runs, but I think Brian Burke hinted pretty strongly that he was not a fan on the scouting staff and how the whole scouting staff department is being run.
Absolutely he should be let go after the draft, and I would suspect that he will be let go after the draft.

If we can have Donald Trump be our GM we can have the following reality TV segments with him sitting at his table talking to his players:
"Your Traded"
"Your Waived"
"Your Going To Abbotsford"
"Your Fired" The Coach Edition
