Ken King in his role as President has been an absolute superstar. Remember where this team is in terms of revenue and where it was when he started. There is no way we are near a cap team without Ken King.

Burke isn't a threat to King. They have two essential roles in the organization, but they aren't going to get in each other's kitchen.
I think your giving King a bit too much credit for all of that.

And you are giving him far too little.

King is the right guy for business operations. If he keeps growing revenues, then he will be fine.

I doubt his surprise was anything more than personal concern for a friend and colleague.

The fact that he was surprised means that hockey ops is not his business = good.

Did King shake his head back and forth or up and down?

Need to know.

He saw Roger, made eyes contact and thought to himself "how can I #### with Roger? ..... I know I will shake my head and see where this moron takes it" then he puts his head down and shakes and and begins waiting for Roger to turn this into something bigger than it is.

Roger Millions is the only reporter so devoid of sources within a team he covers daily that he has to result to tweeting about a president shaking his head.

You're right it's difficult to be the President of business operations to a Canadian NHL franchise. A product that virtually sells itself.

We have Ken King to thanks for us being able to spend to the cap.

I have a hard time believing anyone else in that role wouldn't have achieved the similar results that have been seen throughout the league at all Canadian NHL franchises.

KKing is my least favorite disingenuous person i have met in the Flames organization over the years but that is just my personal opinion of the guy. Many fans love his demeanor i used to, but over time not so much. That aside all these failures of hiring and firing has occurred under his watch. All the failed trades have happened under his watch. The final signature on the contracts for the GM's to offer has been his. Yet he never accepts any blame.
He has the biggest hand in it all and is the Kking of one thing the art of deflection and denial.

No.

The last president Ron Bremner had the team hemorrhaging money and at the low point there were rumours of a Portland based group starting preliminary negotiations for a sale. That was in hockey mad Canada. Being president of the Flames/Stamps/Hitmen/Rougnnecks/Heat/AllotherSaddledomeevents is not a job that just "anyone else" can do.

As president Ken King has turned the direction the Flames were heading in 180 degrees. Sure he has faults, maybe one is that he is too hands on.
But all in all the body of work is impressive. 2 Briers, 1 WJC, The Heritage Classic, the Grey Cup and just awarded the 2015 Brier. All of those events made money. Lots of stinkin money. Also the guy who called the shots for the flood renovation.

Ken King is an excellent leader for the Flames.

Yes.
Apples and Oranges. Bremnar was the victim of a low Canadian dollar that all teams north of the border were feeling the pain of at the time.

When does one year past the first round of playoffs in his lengthy term stick to KK?

It's weird how every Canadian NHL team outside Toronto and Montreal was run poorly all at the same time, and how they all turned things around and started to make money all at the same time. It's almost as though there were powerful external influences on the fiscal health of Canadian NHL franchises over the last 20 years.

I actually think Ken King will be more appreciated once the new arena plans are rolled out / approved.

However, don't kid yourself, you or I could have hired Darryl Sutter or a competent hockey figure and made this organization a boat load of money.

Bremner literally had a promo every whistle. Every whistle. It constantly took attention off of the ice and destroyed the fan experience if you were there to watch hockey (rather than win a Canadian Airlines pen or t-shirt).

It was so awful.
