I would argue it is extremely difficult to change over a scouting staff mid-year. Look for something to happen after the draft, if it does.

In regards to len Barrie . I know him from as I play quite a few pick up games with him . that half the ownership and half of managment wanted to trade Stamkos early in his career . I wish I had recorded him saying that . That was something they fought about .

This hasn't been said, but I think the days of Chris Butler on this team are VERY numbered.

At this point I have to believe that he remains one of the best scouts in the league at the same time as being completely under utilized by his bosses.

If Kane thinks Winnipeg is hicksville, I doubt he'd be excited about coming to Calgary.

Does anyone know about GM's contract termination clauses? Are they kinda standard wihin the NHL or individualized? Does the team pay fired GMs a full amount of the remaining pay under contract or is it pro-rated and reduced somehow?

Button's only draft without Sutter and Wisebrod was IMO the best draft in decades for this organization. This last one may prove better but Todd did a lot with less in that draft.

I wonder if there's a Baertschi / Kane trade to be had.

Burke's history of building winning teams is pretty much a myth.

I'd call Moen, Beauchemin, and Pronger a little bit more than final touches.

I think there are a few players in the organization which are on borrowed time.

I think the more plausible explanation for Button's resiliency in the organization is that his lists are very good and that his bosses namely Sutter didn't use them.

We'd have to add, but if we need to add 1sts or Gaudreau, not a chance. I'd throw in literally any other prospect we've got to get Kane into Flames silks.

He put a positive spin on it this time though. Wasn't outrightly negative. Said he wants more commitment from Sven. Inconsistency is an issue, but also praised Sven's work ethic and said he should be able to learn what he needs to learn.

NHL executive contracts are guaranteed. They will get paid for the remainder of the contract unless they take another job with another team.
