Calling Mugabe a thug is an insult to thugs. He is an animal and a POS.

He took the "bread basket" of Africa and destroyed it.

What sites are you going to? Mandela is on every news website out there. He's the main story on ESPN. I get what you're hinting at with our culture and celebrity worship, but it's just not correct in this case.

And without Ronald Reagan, it's probably significantly less time, both for Mandela and the abhorrent remnants of apartheid.

A true inspiration, not only for Africa, but for the entire world. Humanity needs more Mandela's.

I am sad to see that he went, even though it was expected. However, his spirit and humanity will endure over time.

Rest in peace.

In an age where it seemed impossible he was a hero to both blacks and whites.

Truly a great man.

Correct me if I am wrong. Wasn't Mandela at one point a terrorist that was responsible for a lot of innocent people being killed.

I am not trolling this thread, I am just not very in the know on this topic, and I keep seeing these accusations online.

One man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist.

Non-violence is a good policy when conditions permit. - Nelson Mandela

I think a Terrorist can pretty safely be defined by specifically targetting non-military and civilian targets.

Read Itse's post. Mandela wasn't perfect but Apartheid was an evil that needed to be destroyed.

So it would be safe to assume it is Aryan White Supremacist types, that are the ones that are crapping on his grave.

Thanks for clarifying.

I will do some reading tonight.

I can't believe that he is gone...

I remember a girl I had in one of my classes in High School that grew up in South Africa and the stories she told were amazing.

The NYT obit should be fairly comprehensive:

On the surface it's white supremacist in nature, but they aren't really 'aryan purity' types, they see being Afrikkaners as a sort of distinct culture, to paint with an ultra-wide brush.

At one point, he was actively engaged in and I think a founding member of the MK, the militant wing of the anti-apartheid movement.

It's not crapping on his record. Unfortunately, violence is a determining factor in the fall of that system. In 1985, he was offered release if he "unconditionally rejected violence as a political weapon" but he refused.

.

To quote some of the Dutchmen I met "they had't even invented the wheel".

It is complete and utter disgust.

The National just spent their entire hour talking about Nelson Mandela. Also mentioned that his funeral will most likely have around 1000 guests, and all living US presidents, Prime Minister of Canada, and other world leaders will attend.

You may have had a better case with anyone else, but I think the amount of attention this receives will be just fine.

That "fact" applies only to "Fastandfuriousnews.com" or some other fantasy world, surely nothing remotely resembling reality.

Umm I deliver papers and I can tell you that Mandela's face is all over the covers of the Herald, Post and even the Sun. So much for only being mentioned twice.

Tea Party favourite Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) posted a memorial comment about Mandela on his Facebook page. Want to see what kind of human disgraces follow Cruz? Have a look at some of these comments:

Quote:
stunned to see you support this scumbag,Mr. Cruz...Mandela was a murderer, and a terrorist..not to mention a communist...
Quote:
Senator Cruz, He was communist terrorist.
Quote:
lets not forget his idol karl marx and his best friend gaur redebe....a communist. he is not the great hero that cnn says he is. he was a huge fan of jawa nehru who wanted indian independence sooo badly that he would've joined up with the nazis. yes lets all say sorry that this communist died. while we are at it lets send out condolences for when north korea's ruler dies too.....
Quote:
Mandela was a communist trained by the Kgb who sings racial hate songs... And now, the South Africa is a worst country for both whites and blacks... this is the inspirations of americans conservative politicians?
Quote:
Mandela was a white hating killer and his wife continued his tradition. .including torture and immolation of enemies. With Rev. Tutu they tried to help the east Germans in Angola to invade and take over S. Africa. He remained tribal and killed other blacks not of his tribal affiliates. Honoring him is like honoring the Prince of Darkness

I counted 23 people on my news feed mentioning something about Paul Walker.... One person mentioned Nelson Mandela. I posted something to bring this to light, and a lady I (sadly) know asked who that was. She is 45. Another girl who is like 22 or so said nobody cares about ugly old men. Paul Walker was hot. Omg....

I don't want to live on this planet anymore.
