Can't agree -- thought he looked better than most nights - great defensive positioning, killed a couple of 'yotes plays by himself on the backcheck. Started up good offensive plays -- he's getting it. He needs more meat and muscle methinks. He has great hands and I'm amazed how often he just swipes his stick at a puck it the air and knocks it down to himself.

2 in a row for the first time since October!
It's a red letter day.
And that letter is a "C".

I've been really impressed by the hustle of B. Jones since he was called up. He has speed and size and has been fantastic on the penalty kill. I think with that work ethic it will be hard to demote him

Maybe it was the fact the yotes played the night before or maybe it was the return of Gio but the Flames seemed to have a real jump about them last night, something that seemed to be missing over the last couple of weeks.
Got to love Backlunds impression of Cammi with the one knee slapshot

Really good to see. For a while there I was wondering if this team was ever going to be able to keep the opposition to two goals or less. Good on Ramo and the team for playing better defensively.

Baertschi was very good last night. And he was only a bad pass from Colbourne away from a sweet goal too.

I agree with your thoughts on Ramo - I thought he was a bit shaky in the first (looked a little underconfident when he let some big rebounds go and didn't corral some shots he should have) but he really settled down as the game went on. However, he either needs a ton of work on puck handling or he should just stay in his net. He can be a bit slow getting back to the net.
Regarding Colborne though - I agree that his line seemed very dominant, but I give the credit to Baertschi - he made great defensive plays to strip the puck from Phoenix and start rushes up the ice. He was all over the place and had a couple great scoring chances. Colborne was ok - but I didn't think he was that great last night.

Agreed!
I thought Sven made some really smart plays last night.
He won a foot race to a loose puck in our own zone and made the simple play of poking the puck out into the neutral zone were a streaking Flame player picked it up and it lead to an odd man rush and some extended pressure in the Coyotes zone that ended up drawing a penalty I believe. That all developed because of Svens effort on the puck.
He also forced a delay a game penalty in the third by pressuring a young defenseman and forcing him to make a play quicker than he wanted to.
Smart plays by Sven based on a solid effort level; not sure what else you can ask from a small rookie. A tap in goal would have been nice I guess...

That's a long time!
“@DarrenHaynes_CP: Kiprusoff on April 3 and 6, 2011. That was last time a #Flames goalie started consecutive games and gave up 1 or 0 goals in each. Now Ramo.”

Sven's been quite good lately outside of the 3rd period Blackhawks panic.

Looking forward a little but do you start Ramo Friday and Saturday?
I really want to beat the Oilers after last time they were in town and we blew it, so my bias would be for Ramo to get the night off Friday and then play Saturday to maximize our chances of beating the Oilers.

NONE of this matters if we don't beat the AHL Oilers on Saturday. Please god put Ramo in net against them!

It's the tail end of a back-to-back so I'd say the smart move would be to play Berra vs the Avalanche and Ramo vs the Oilers.

The toughest thing for a young player is to find that consistent level. If Sven keeps up this level of play for 5 or 10 games in a row the points will come and he will leave the doooooghouse.

Calling the Oilers an AHL team is an insult to the AHL.

Is Paul Byron making a case for a permanent roster spot this season?
2 Games, two great performances from him.
