It's the Thunderdome - and I like stats/market analysis stuff.
If anybody is looking for the Xbone as a Christmas gift, at least you can order from them and it should get here in time (at least it should make it in time). I assume that some people here might still looking for the system.

That's exactly what its for, only 1 player uses that bulky controller and some games integrate it into the game with the built in camera etc. I really enjoyed a few times I got to play 4 player mario and nintendoland. Sadly I don't get as many visits to play games and its now an overpriced netflix box which its actually terrible for.

The PS4 has this ability as well and my kids think it is neat so that is why I wanted to set up profiles but I think they need to be attached to a PSN account.
Reading online it appears that you cannot switch from a Sub account to a master account when they turn 18. Not sure if that is a huge issue for not.

I think I'm going to give it to the weekend or so and then just do the New Year pre-order through Amazon.ca for the PS4. I'm sure various retailers will release more before Jan 15th, but I'm sick of dealing with my compulsion to repeatedly check all the websites for availability. If I pre-order, its done and I just have to wait. Should have just gotten one on the first day when they were a little more available. Crap.

So when do Xbox One fanboys get to roll out the PS4 argument?
You know the "well the PS4 sold 1million in only 2 countries not 13! 500k/country >>>> 75k/country!"
2.1 million PS4 in 32 countries....~65 k/country
1.0 million Minimum in 13 countries....~76k/country
Or shall we just accept that right now everything is supply limited and the numbers are meaningless and will likely be meaningless for a good while....talking years here folks.

But it's fun to speculate/backseat analyze.
http://www.gamespot.com/articles/xbo.../1100-6416542/
Editorial: Microsoft and Sony are going to toss out a lot of numbers over the next couple months. They're fun to follow, but they don't mean much (yet).
So why do we care about these numbers, even if they dont mean anything? Like film box office numbers, its just fun to see how sales numbers play out and how our own preferences compare to everyone else. When our biases match up, we get to feel validated. And when were in the minority, everyone else sounds like an idiot.

I love the idea of TV picture in picture and smart glass intrigues me. On the other hand, I've always been a PlayStation guy, and the PS4 seems to be a better gaming device.
What to do...
BUY THEM BOTH!!

I'm a little in your boat (right up until that "buy them both" thing). I have always preferred Sony's exclusives, but admittedly the Xbox One does have features that interest me. It'll be interesting to see where Kinect goes over the next few years. I always felt it had more functionality as a UI companion than a gaming controller.

Buy the xbone this year, maybe ps4 next year or the one after. Who knows. That's currently my plan. And by this year, I mean in the next 12 months
Edit :
I'm not sure the resolution difference will be that big of a deal to me. I typically only play sports games, with assassin's creed mixed in with a few others. I do have a 100" projection screen that I play on, but I still don't think it'll matter that much. Getting used to the ui will be challenge. Never used an Xbox before

The only reason I want to buy a Wii U is for the Virtual Console to play classics.

Uhoh. Hope progression isn't gated as badly as Forza. We will have to see - review embargos are up tomorrow I think.
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/20...icing-revealed
The PlayStation Store updated today with the prices for these. They are as follows:- 500,000 In-Game Credits (£3.99/4.99)
- 1 Million In-Game Credits (£7.99/9.99)
- 2,500,000 In-Game Credits (£15.99/19.99)
- 7 Million In-Game Credits (£39.99/49.99)
The issue is, will Gran Turismo's progression system be adversely affected by microtransactions? Eurogamer's Martin Robinson has been playing the game and tells me GT6's economy works exactly the same as GT5's, with progression, payouts and car prices very similar.
Sony maintains that GT6's microtransactions offer players an alternative fast-track route through the series' famously grindy progression. Eurogamer's review will be published on Friday.

Was curious when I looked up to see what the next-gen console scene was like weeks after launch on kijiji, and yet still so many ads with the premium prices.
On a related note, I'm going to be returning an unopened XB1 Day One edition to Bestbuy tomorrow or Saturday. PM me and I can let you know about when I do decide to return it. Bought it on a whim because it was a Day One edition mixed in with all the regular versions thinking either my uncle or some friends still were interested.
Turns out nobody is willing to pick one up even now at cost.

Really? No responses for the Day One edition on Kijiji at retail price? I wonder if they're worried about getting a receipt for return/warranty purposes?
Regardless, that's cool of you - a good chance for somebody here on CP to grab a Day One Edition.

To clarify, I had only picked it up thinking to pass along to somebody close to me.

I'm not nice enough to list something like that at retail cost when it's safer and easier to just return it.

I scratch my head when I realize GT6 is for PS3 and wonder why Sony did not work on GT6 development to coincide with a PS4 launch to give them a halo launch title.
