I love it. Graphics are amazing and they mix up the gameplay between stealth missions, all out sword fights and sea battles. So it keeps things fresh. I really like sailing and exploring the islands, so it's very easy to get off the main mission track.
Picked it up last night and made to Havana before I called it a night...
I'm struggling with the controls a bit, fighting is a bit cludgey and I find the free running a bit goofy
Spoiler!
When I was chasing the pickpocket I kept grabbing stuff and hanging off it...I ran out of time. the second time I fluked out and stabbed him when I was jumping from roof to roof...still don't know what I did but it saved me from a lot of frustration
but, it's beautiful to look at and who doesn't want to be a pirate

I understand what you mean about the controls. You hold R2 to run but end up climbing everything in sight. Good thing is after a bit you get a handle on what Kenway will climb and it makes traversing the environment a bit easier. Plus a good sword set makes a big difference in the fights.
Wait until you get your boat. The open sea sailing and ship battles were the best part, IMO.
Microsoft is listening to Xbox One user feedback and passing on suggestions to improve the console's UI to the appropriate Xbox teams, Xbox Live's director of programming Larry Hryb has said.
Xboxfeedback.com, an entire website dedicated to discussing changes that users would like to see implemented, has also been set up, to which Hryb says he has passed on to the relevant team at Microsoft.
Not sure I believe the crazy timeframe but it's on their radar at least.
Microsoft over the coming months will be replacing the entire party/notification/XBL-related UI parts wholesale. They won’t be fixing them like they previously had been telling developers. This is definitely a smart move and the right decision for the console longterm but it will have some fairly significant short-term implications. They likely won’t be finished until well into spring or possibly early summer (update: one of the sources of this story just told me “It may take up to a year” HOLY CRAP). With Titanfall and Destiny around the corner – two games that are built around online play and will require solid party infrastructure for working as a team… the news that the party system won’t be replaced by then is a kick to the gut.
So maybe I've been a little too spot-happy in Battlefield 4 (on PS4). The spot button is R1, and after just about 5 hours of play the button starting sticking on me a bit. Some quick googling found that this has been common for others.
I took the controller apart, dropped some tiny bit of oil on the posts that R1 was getting stuck on, seemed to do the trick. Disassembly/assembly was mostly easy except the springs on the R2/L2 triggers took some fiddling.
Not too happy that after <10 hours of play the controller has these issues. But at least it was easy to fix.

Same thing happened to my daughter when she pulled her curly hair back into a tight ponytail. Just had to tell Kinect it didn't recognize her during the log in and it logs more data to better recognize later etc.
And my point not very well articulated point on Black Friday was what you mentioned...not providing many consoles for sale on the biggest shopping day in the biggest market in the world was curious to me. Seems they could have staggered the roll out differently while not essentially ignoring the US market on that day.
Either way, thus far I'm quite happy with the One and if/when things get fleshed out I think the interface will prove to be extremely effective. It already is IMO....voice commands are working at over 95% of the time in a house with quite a bit of ambient noise (kids, dishwasher, a horrendously noisy dih network box fan etc). In fact I've only repeated myself once the last 3 days. I love the snap feature even just for silly things like firing up a game during intermission and having it in the top corner so you know when the next period has started. I think it will become quite powerful when the apps themselves really integrate the voice control.
biggest shopping day? they have sold over 2 million consoles and its the best selling console at launch of all time why does it matter which day they were sold on. Pretty sure they are happy with having the best sales numbers EVER
I know people like to hate on the Wii U but its actually pretty fun especially with the kids ect. and it looks like superstore has the deluxe mario bundle for $189! which is the best deal in gaming. New mario 3D game is awesome by the way

IGN mistakenly published a previous side-by-side comparison of Call of Duty: Ghosts that did not contain the full 1080p native resolution footage of the PS4 version. To help rectify this error and provide you with the proper information, we have recaptured footage for this graphics comparison. It contains new footage that accurately represents the visual difference between the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Call of Duty Ghosts.
Why It Matters That PS4 Games Are Higher-Resolution Than Xbox One
And although it's easy to downplay the significance of that disparity, I've found that it really does make a difference. Multiplatform games like Assassin's Creed IV and Call of Duty: Ghosts provide the easiest way to directly compare the two consoles, since we can look at the same game running on both systems.
Just going by the numbers, the PS4 has got an advantage in all but one of those games. And although the Xbox One upscales games' resolutions to output to your 1080p TV, if you play the games on both systems—which I've spent a good chunk of time doing—the difference is evident. With the exception of Need for Speed: Rivals, the PS4 versions look sharper in a way that doesn't require high-tech capture software to understand. It's apparent to the naked eye.
Why is that the case? Time and expert hardware analysis will tell for sure, but as several developers have already explained to us, the PS4 is simply a bit more graphically powerful than the Xbox One.
All that stuff is fair. If you have an Xbox One, you're hardly getting a raw deal; the games listed above remain the same in most substantive ways. And as I laid out in our lengthy console comparison last week, the Xbox One does some cool stuff that the PS4 doesn't do or even attempt.
But it does matter that those games don't look as good on the Xbox One. I don't even mean that it matters because of what the resolution difference does or doesn't suggest about both consoles' future games, or what it means about how they'll sell, or anything like that. It matters in the most self-evident way: Right now, for some people (like me!), it makes a difference that the PS4 versions of these games look better than their Xbox One counterparts. How much does it matter to you? It matters precisely as much as you think it matters that one version of a game looks better than the other one.
None of this is to say that resolution is the only thing that matters when it comes to next-gen gaming. Of course it isn't. Ryse: Son of Rome runs at 900p on Xbox One and it regularly looks wonderful, like a movie come to life. Meanwhile the Xbox One's Dead Rising 3 runs at 720p and has frequent framerate problems, yet it's still the most fun next-gen launch exclusive I've played.
This also isn't to say that in the future, game developers won't figure out how to get games running at the same resolution on both consoles.
I do think the at-launch resolution difference between the two consoles matters. It won't matter to everyone equally. While it may mean that future games will look better on Sony's console than they do on Microsoft's, it also may not. It most certainly means that right now, several big games look better on PS4 than they do on Xbox One.

That's a great deal! Wii U is one of those systems that you probably will only buy the exclusive games for (mario, Zelda...etc), but it still serves it's purpose well. Especially if you ever play video games with your kids or a girlfriend/wife who doesn't play much.
Xbone on Amazon finally sold out this morning apparently. Roughly 9 hours according to neogaf versus 25 minutes for PS4.
Assuming demand is roughly the same, good for Microsoft if they could indeed supply Amazon ~20 times the amount that Sony did (for this particular day). If they had 10,0000 PS4's - that would be like 200,000 Xbones they pushed out the door.
It all pivots on demand though, it could have also been a combination of lower demand and more stock. We'll have a better idea when Microsoft finally gives updated numbers.
