essentially they are due for a big jump, they have been unlucky (in the sense that a month ago people were saying the leafs had been lucky and they have crumbled)

Nope, Wrong.

Enjoy 9th and 10th place finishes for the next 5 years.

In real money it's 2m a point. the guy is making 6 friken million this year!

In a blink of an eye he goes from being one of the leagues biggest bargins to one of the worst. At 32 it's doubtfull he'll ever live up to his new deal.

It does look like the Canucks MAY be able to overtake Phoenix and nab a wildcard spot. But if I'm the Canucks I am not seeing that as anything to hang my hat on. Even if they make the playoffs, they do not look like a competitive team right now and they are tied into this same group for a long time. There are definite similarities to the Flames just before they started missing the playoffs.

As a huge Burrows/Nucks fan this sucks.. He hasn't done much this year but I feel for the guy.

On a side note: I am fully aware of the rivalry between the two clubs but to be glad someone is injured is extremely immature, real fans don't want to see players hurt.

If it was Higgins or Garrison or Lou, this thread wouldn't exist. Burrows bites other players and pulls their hair. Nobody would be sobbing over Cooke or Mike Smith getting hurt either.

After the Sedins and Kesler, there is a huge dropoff up front.
Booth,Richardson,Santorelli,Wiese,Kassian....the Canucks have nothing.

I'd say they're due for a huge dropoff if anything...you're delusional.

If it was anyone else, I'd agree.

Anything this side of death itself could make me feel sorry for that POS.

Real fans don't go on message boards of rival teams and expect sympathy. If only there was a place you could talk about it with like minded people.

I don't get the hate for Burrows. Heart and soul guy who clawed his way from the ECHL. Can score, agitate, and defend. Flames could've used a guy like him during the Iginla/Kipper years.

He also steps up for his country all the time. At the 2012 WCs it looked like he was the only one who cared. He has also said he would play for Canada if Quebec were to separate.

Two or three overhyped incidents shouldn't incite this much hatred.

Well he doesn't just agitate the opposition into hating him. Clearly he's done it with fans as well. Definitely as easy guy to dislike.
