Can this guy actually skate and play hockey? Or is he just a fighter?
If the answer is no and yes, I'd rather have the 6th round pick.
He's not terrible. If you're expecting him to be a 2nd or 3rd liner, you'll be disappointed. He can be a solid 4th line presence moving forward. Plus he's only 24. Having several tougher players is a good thing as we proceed through the rebuild.
He's basically what Jackman was, but a bit better in all aspects, and can fight rather well.

Couldn't send him to the minors immediately. That was the reason why.

The benefit of acquiring MacDermid after he's cleared waivers is Flames can send him to minors.
Your post was different from Bertuzzied's. He didn't follow it up with a bunch of thoughtful musings on the topic making it seem like the first part of the post was a legitimate thought. Learn from the best on how to make joke posts seem obviously joking. Learn from Bertuzzied.

This is a good move. With jackman going and being replaced by someone from the Heat, we needed someone to be the "peace keeper" for the Heat. And from what I've read about him on IMDB, he's also a good actor and he's been in several movies.

Also for people asking why we didn't claim him on waivers, i'd assume it's because we didn't want to lose out on our spot (which is probably 4th?) on a player like this. They would rather put in a claim on a better player if one was to ever go on waivers.
NHL waivers do not work like this. Waiver priority is determined by reverse league standings only. Teams do not go to the bottom of waiver priority by claiming a player off waivers

Careful. You're about to have an onslaught of people asking if this should have been in green text or if you're stupid, even though your content is clearly understandable.
Why the crap would i use green text? I'm 100% serious. Feaster needs to choose a plan and stick with it!
Maybe management wanted to be able to send him to the AHL or trade him. When you pick a player up off wavers, they have to go back on wavers to send him down and they cannot be traded for the duration of the season. If they clear waver and you trade for the player and they have played 10 or less games since clearing, they don't need to put the player on waivers again.
