I'm so pissed at Future Shop. I got an email that my business card that I use every single damn day to do multiple transactions could not be authorized. I called customer support and he advised me to contact my Visa company...I was like wtf ...tell me what part of the information is wrong...he's like .. we dont have that information....Then I gave him a brand new credit card...and told him to process that...right simple?....Nope he says that he can just update the information but the billing process will be done automatically when they try to authorize my new card??? WTF what kind of #### customer service is that?? You cant authorize my credit card over the phone and now expect me to sit here waiting for the next time you try to authorize payment??? He's like oh it should be tonight.

What a dumb ####ing company.

Future Shop and Best Buy are both overly finicky with their credit card policies, have had issues with them in the past.

If the information on the order does not match the card information from Visa they will not charge you.

Even the shipping information does not match the billing information on the card they will completely cancel the order. Happened to me with them the first time I tried to have an order shipped to my work with FutureShop and the shipping address didn't match the card address. Had to call MasterCard and get my work address added to my account.

Also pissed at FutureShop right now. Still no sign of any shipping notice or charge for anybody who pre-ordered the "Day One Edition" from the E3 sale. Guess they will be dealing with a lot of returns of those games next week when the ones they were supposed to ship actually get in get returned.

My only guess is that standard shipping from BC takes 2 days so they were not worried about it arriving early. Expediated shipping says it takes one day, so if they send it out Thursday morning maybe they are worried it arrives Thursday night?

Doesn't change the fact that it's stupid to not get the consoles out on time. If they can do it for one method of shipping, why can't they do it for both?

Xbox One does seem to be getting some very good reviews especially when it comes to the stuff real gamers don't care about...except when they try it and find out that they do care. Or that somebody in their household cares. Or they might care a great deal as things get patched up with updates. Most everything I've read the last day or so mentions that the aspirations Microsoft have this console are truly rooted in the potential in the (not too far away) future. And that Forza and Ryse seem to be gorgeous cinematic experiences.

It's going to be an interesting console war for reasons that many weren't expecting a couple of years ago. Two completely different visions of the living room experience.

Which is great. PS4 is going after the pure gamer, which is a market that will always be there and one that they know well. Microsoft is going after the moderate gamer crowd, who's as interested in the total home entertainment experience as much as the games themselves. They aren't there yet, but the pieces in place are promising and if they get it right I could see myself picking one up

Of course this isn't factoring in the Steam Box, which seems to be trying to go after both markets. I really hope Valve makes a strong entry to make the console wars a true 3 horse race again after Nintendo went the pure casual gamer route

I don't really understand the argument about "pure gamer" vs "moderate gamer" when it comes to these consoles. Both play games. Is there something specific about the Xbox that plays games less well than the PS4?

I think it makes people feel good to consider themselves a "pure gamer" or something. I suppose I must not be given I don't particularly care for many of the PS franchises and do prefer the Xbox exclusives more if push were to come to shove. I don't think me ALSO wanting to have a better Netflix or Hulu or Skype or whatever experience than what Sony has so far been able to deliver makes me a moderate gamer but if some think so then so be it. I'll be honest as soon as was reading about how you can ask the Xbox one to search for movies or tv shows by voice I was happy because that searching on, for example, Netflix one letter at a time stuff sucks. Voice control is a big step forward especially if the bugs are addressed.

Personally I will default to the Xbox controller every time if given the choice. Unless there is a vast difference between game experiences I default to that. I just find it a more comfortable controller for me and a key part to the game experience. Have to see how the new ones feel and compare but I suspect I will maintain my preference for the xbox controller. For games to be honest I really couldn't care less about 720p vs 900p vs 1080p at least for my set up. There just isn't a noticeable difference if you aren't directly comparing it side by side. And I think most people if you had in one house a 720p setup and the same setup but at 1080p wouldn't really notice a difference either. But it doesn;t really matter....to me a good game is a good game and really gorgeous bad game is still not a game worth playing. And in the end both consoles are more than likely going to deliver 1080p as we go forward anyways and not beyond so I fail to see differences in launch game as any major issue.

Now I may come off as a fanboy but want to remind people I had both a PS2 and Xbox, PS3 and 360 and at some point will likely have both of these consoles. But I am leaning Xbox one because it fits our life better while still allowing me to be a "serious gamer" (when i have tome to play games).

I was able to obtain a guaranteed console card for the launch (it is numbered 1-40). Not sure if there are more outside the card.

Honestly, I feel your pain. After F/S effed up my PS4 order, I swore I would never pre-order from them again.

The Futureshops around town that are opening at midnight (all of them, I believe) will have a bit of extra stock over and above that which is pre-ordered. I spoke to the Beacon Hill location specifically and they said they'd have some available at midnight, and then more for the early opening at 8am tomorrow.

I pre-ordered mine at EB Games Northhill about a month ago. I called them today to ask what time I should get there tonight for the midnight launch. They told me I would not be able to get it until the second shipment. That's the reason why I never pre-order anything.
