I wondered when Hanowski was going to shake that scoreless streak!

The second assist has been changed from Jones to Reinhart

Byron Scores right at the start of the period, missed the call.

Andy Delmore.

I kid. But he's a very very good AHL defenseman. Probably the best offensive d-man on the Heat since Clay Wilson or Brian Connelly.

Ferland has 10 points in his last 7 games. He had zero points in his first 11.

Any chance he gets a call up this year, PMM?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say post-Trade Dealine when there's nothing to lose for the Flames.

He's not close to being ready for the NHL game, but he's on the right track IMO.

He's the right type of player (build, strength, offensive upside) but he's one of the less mature guys on the Heat.

True, but he's taken a HUGE step in his maturity.

He went from being a shy, reserved, unfit kid to a guy that has fun at practice and off the ice with his teammates.

In last year's training camp, if you guys can remember, McKelvie would hack and slash Ferland in front of the net and Ferland would retaliate by doing the same thing.

This season in practice, Arsene will cross check him in front of the net and play a little rough with him and after the drill they'll tap eachother on shin bads or pat eachother on the helmet.

I think he truly "gets it" this season.

Ferland drags one past Simpson! Amazing run. Haha.

edit: To clarify- 3. ABB Ferland, (4) (Billins, Granlund), 6:59

3-1 Heat.

3 assist night for Billins, I believe its 18 points in 17 games. Back to Back 3 assist nights. Heat have won 11 of their last 12.

4-2 win

Goals: Hanowski, Byron, Ferland, Olson
Assists: Billins (3), Reinhart, Ferland, Granlund

MacDonald 2 for 30

3 stars:
1st ABB Michael Ferland
2nd RFD Drew LeBlanc
3rd ABB Chad Billins

Billins now has 18 points in 17 games, good for 2nd among defensemen in the AHL!

I think it's time to switch NHL and AHL teams. Send the Flames down to the AHL and call up the Heat.

Or perhaps a heavy dose of AHL youth into the Flames lineup. Anyone waiver exempt goes down and call up a Heat player to take their place.

Billins is quite the story. Undrafted college free agent.. no NHL team signed him... ended up on an AHL contract last year and now he's just racking up points whereever he plays.
