As the article I linked mentioned, that is part of the problem. IF developers can utilize the eSRAM efficiently, then they could close the gap with the PS4. But that adds a layer of difficulty to development that the PS4 doesn't have, it's like the last generation but reversed

And as for your iPhone/Android comparison, the reason that the iPhone is a smoother experience is because Apple develops the OS for a single hardware platform, while Android is on thousands of different types of devices. Yet both consoles fall into the Apple camp in this scenario (one OS for one piece of hardware), so your argument has no point

Agreed. Hopefully Star Citizen is as amazing as we all hope it will be.

That said, exclusive titles have always been a meh drawing point for me. I'm usually just happy if the game runs as good or better on PC than on the console (or plays better, in terms of FPS games and games that utilize a stick+throttle)...poor optimization has made me regret some purchases mind you...(Dark Souls I'm looking at you).

It really is a tough choice right now. I'll be waiting to get into next gen anyways as I still think my PS3 can keep me busy for a while. However, the really interesting thing for this console generation is the difference in philosophy. Xbox One's all in one attack seems like the future -- but as I stated in an earlier post, it needs to work really well. If it can't incorporate everything its trying to successfully, it'll just be a lot of gimmicky stuff that wont matter. Then you have PS which has turned its back on the overall media experience and is focused primarily on games. Could be amazing but I need to see they've actually improved their online experience, where Xbox Live was always a superior product. To me the price difference is negligable, I'll get whichever console has the games I like and the best overall media experience. Fact of the matter is, it isn't only about gaming anymore.

I'm no fanboy, I simply go with the better product. I have both a PS3 and Xbox 360, but prefer to buy most of my games on the 360 because it's the better device. But right now the PS4 has the more powerful hardware, the current cross platform games look and perform better on it, and PS+ provides far more value over Xbox Live with their monthly free games and Steam-like sales (plus no need to pay to use things like Netflix). As it stands the PS4 is simply the better product, especially when you factor in price

Microsoft can't compete with Sony in pure gaming performance unless they change the hardware inside the One (which no console manufacturer has ever done with a current gen device), so they need to focus on the software side of things. I want to see them work on the one device mentality and improve the Kinect performance, make it actually worth the extra $100. Then it might be worth buying

I must be in the minority here but system exclusive games rarely appeal to me, I think I have to go back to the Metal Gear games on PS2 to find exclusives I was really passionate about. Don't get me started on the kinect, I got it for Christmas and I used it 1 time.

Never been big into racing games, didn't really enjoy Halo, tried to play the Dead Rising series but never ended up finishing a game, Never played Gears. I didn't have a PS3 so I can't comment on any of those games. I only regret not getting a PS3 because I missed a new Metal Gear game.

Now that I have PS4 I have Battlefield and I am looking forward to Watch Dogs, The Division, and I have Infamous ordered. Who knows, maybe Infamous will be the next exclusive to disappoint me.

Where Microsoft lost me is the same features that Robaur was gushing about earlier, what does the console do other than playing games? Who cares?! I just want it to play games, and play games well.

Heh, as a kid I actually had a Genesis, Sega CD, and really wanted a 32x to make the "ultimate" system (must have been a Power Rangers mentality). But when I bought one it just wouldn't work with my Genesis, so disappointingly I returned it and bought a Playstation instead. Must have been fate

Nothing wrong with getting a PS3 system now or when they go for super cheap in the next few months. So many good (and low) priced games.

It would be unfortunate to miss out on things like The Last of Us, all 3 Uncharted, etc.
