I like the uncharted games and GOW but man has IGN ever overrated those games over the years throwing out perfect 10's left and right for Sony exclusives.
Not really... only three Sony exclusives got 10's on PS3 - MGS4, Uncharted 3, and The Last of Us. One can argue the merits of any of those getting perfect scores but I'd hardly call that 'handing them out left and right'. No PS2 game scored a 10.
I believe the guy running the show at the Vancouver studio admitted last week that framerate optimization was the last thing on their to do list after the rest of the game was ironed out and they were sill working on it as he was speaking to getting it stable. I imagine there will be an update coming as all the discs were made a while ago and packaged. Not sure if this review was based on updated software but other reviews do mention framerate issues.
Yeah sounds like there is a Day One Patch that is meant to help out with the framerate and pop in issues.
Some reviews had the patch and some didn't which is leading to the discrepancy in reviews.
Kinda off topic but I hated Uncharted 3, no way it deserved a 10 from anyone. Boring story IMO, no real improvements over the other games other than graphics slightly, and instead of making more difficult puzzles or smarter AI, they just made the enemies even more bulletproof than any of the previous games
They made the enemies at the end of the game so frustrating I almost just watched the ending on YouTube instead of playing it, it made what should be the best part of the game a boring, repetitive grind.
This is coming from a fan of the Uncharted series, but I definitely think Uncharted 3 is by far the least fun of the 4 in the series
You either have a very short memory or you don't know much about IGN. You can take any Sony exclusive game review from IGN over the years and find that's always higher than the average. Always! I would also disagree with this. Reviews are generally just the opinion of 1 single individual. The 10 handed out to Uncharted 3 is often described by other IGN staff as a very unpopular opinion, but it was a score that was argued and ultimately defended well enough that it passed. I personally see absolutely nothing wrong with that. I know some are of the opinion that game ratings should be robotic (game x got a 7.3, so the precedent for 7.3 scores has been set), but I don't agree.
IGN also destroys games that advertise with them all the time. I remember when SOCOM came out for PS3 they had developer interviews on Podcast Beyond, and they talked about it all the time. One of the original guys who ran the podcast even went to work with Zipper, and it got SLAUGHTERED by IGN.
In the end this odd game ratings conspiracy doesn't make sense to me. Keeping something of that magnitude under wraps would be an incredible task in an industry such as that.
Sounds like a great idea but who wants to sit or stand a few feet in front of their TV as the cables Sony provides are way too short. No idea what they are thinking as wire is cheap. Make the cables longer!
Just get / use a USB to wall plug adapter, and connect to your nearest outlet.

I'd say it wasn't a noticeable improvement on 2 but it was still an excellent game. The second is still the best.
It's a divisive game among fans though. My brother-in-law is a big Uncharted fan and thinks 3 is far and away the best in the series.

If you're looking at memorable sequences of action, 3 would take the cake I think. If you're looking for a complete game? I would say 2 wins hands down.
I just hooked up my PS4 yesterday, and I have to say that I am pretty disappointed. I had troubles finding a PS3 and a Wii, so I thought I would be on top of this console release and preorder one.
Other than there are no game I really want to play right now, the no media server / DLNA support really ticks me off. Maybe it is coming, maybe it isn't, but that was one of the features I assumed it would have since it had it one the PS3.
I guess I jumped the gun a little this time around. I'm sure it will be fine eventually thought.
