We're a better team than everything except the Oiler's top line and their goalie. That said, we are not a good NHL team. A good NHL team would have won that game 5-1. The third goal was clearly Berra's fault and I'd argue the first one would have been a save by most NHL goalies. The second goal was a fluke, those happen to everyone.
The biggest issue I had was that we didn't look like we were playing hard, but I think that actually had a lot to do with Edmonton. They are really, really soft. Easy to knock off the puck, poor structure, and through the first two periods we didn't have to put a lot of effort in to get control of the game and it lulled us into thinking we would just glide to victory.
Edmonton's got some talent on that roster, but ... man ... without Dubnyk they lose badly to one of the worst teams in the league.

Why does Healy have a job when he clearly hates it so much?
Usually he's more subtle with his general sour demeanour and comments dripping with bitterness.

I just don't understand how Ference wasn't dealt with after his crap. This team is so f****ing soft.

I like him, but, he isn't a good enough player to player to be an effective top 6 on this team and would have trouble cracking the top 9 on a very good team.

Maybe you might want to ask Backlund who wanted to support a teammate after a huge hit and SOB forced him into a fight and injured his shoulder. Why is Mcgratton even in the line up then? so soft.

On the bright side, this means that Oilers management is not going to blowing things up, so we can enjoy that circus a bit longer

Hartley really messed up by going back to Yogi Berra after that Dallas showing.

He still needs to handle himself. He needs to take what happened to him and turn that into energy. He can't/won.t do that. A player of his ilk needs to be able to handle himself.
I'm not trying to rag on him, because I do like him. Just pointing out what sets great teams and poor teams apart.

Old night with even the panthers winning... Bad team + bad coaching = good draft pick!

Watching the first goal again, Bartschi is definitely the only forward backchecking for miles, but is a step behind leaving Hall to the D and taking Eberle. Berra was actually square to the puck and looked to react to the shot moving across his body in his weird little hop.
Bleh this game is just disgusting.

Flames are plummeting in the standings. The team just doesn't have much talent and the work ethic is slipping a bit. On paper the Flames are arguably the worst team in the league. It stings to lose to Edmonton when they are so terrible.

well Ramo wasn't any better...I might be looking to bring in a tender. I know its a rebuild but losing like this just crushes a team. you need a little success to keep the guys going

Do you remember when the Oilers scored 8 goals against the team after the deadline last year?
It sucks. It's never acceptable to lose to the last place team in the league.
But it happens. Especially during a rebuild. And people are still willing to ship any player with a pulse on the first plane out of town.
I wish the team didn't overreact when we lost 9 games in a row during the 09/10 season...

Let me get this straight. Unless I post 40 or 50 times how much the Flames suck, I'm happy with the way they played.
Gotcha.
Okay. Carry on force feeding everyone your doom and gloom opinion. I for one will be ignoring you.
