This was an absolutely pathetic performance by the team overall.
Battle of Alberta, home ice, easiest points of the year, getting whooped several times before this, starting the game well...
Two goals.
We played the worst defensive team this league has seen in many years by a wide margin, and we score two goals.
I hope they don't use Berras crappy play as an excuse, because it really wasn't the ultimate reason we lost. The game should have been long over before the third period. The Oilers kept on trying to give us the game, with stupid penalties, with terrible defensive game, with their constant turnovers and with their extremely soft offense.
We didn't take it. There is just no team bad enough in this league that a one period perfomance like that will beat them. And it wasn't like even the first period was that great.

My point was that the Oilers are three 1st overall picks into their rebuild (if you don't count Gagner, 6th overall, and Schultz). We are one 6th overall pick into our rebuild.
We were going to suck this year. I'm surprised that this many people are shocked.
Everyone on this forum talks about not rushing the rebuild, but it's funny to see the reactions after a game like this.

I think it was a play where he had to stop Hall at all costs. I saw a goal as soon as he got the puck. Sven had to take a "good" penalty at that time.

Two minor league teams battle it out and looks like the smaller, more talented forwards won in the end. Guess if the words "Calgary" wasn't printed on the front of the red jerseys, I wouldn't have guess it was the Flames playing. Cripes, those jerseys look so minor league. Makes the team look even more so.

I would never have been able to tell which team was which if their jerseys didn't say their team names.

He didn't try and slow down anyone as they went right by him. Then he went to check the 3rd man in (which was the correct thing to do) but was pretty late in doing so. IMO, he needed to be much better on that play. He had a few other shifts tonight where he was just slightly lazy in his own zone. He still has work to do on his consistency, but so does every other player on this team.

Do you know what a rebuild is.........
Psst. Apparently not, your already talking about trading for vets or are you going for another draft lotto? In which case.. Guess what your back where you started

The Oilers are a -30 on the season as a team the worst in the NHL, and we let them score 4 goals in one period. I don't care if we are rebuilding, that is just brutal.

One thing the last few games have taught me is that Berra seems to slide a bit far while on his pads. Lost track of his net a couple times. None of the goals originated from it, but it seems to be a concern as it led to a few scrambles.

HNIC saying:
1) Taylor Hall is the most talented guy in the West.
2) Him finishing a regular check on Butler changed the game.

0-2 in the new alternates. I think we found out what went wrong tonight.

And in case you didn't get the memo, a rebuild doesn't usually equate to winning every game. Relax.

There's no effort or fight in this team that we saw at the start of the season. Maybe our #### play doesn't bother you and your happy to accept it because it's a " rebuild" but I sure as #### don't like it

No, that's not it. Stempniak still needs to take care of himself. He isn't pat Kane or Crosby. A better than average top 6 player (that isn't a skilled player) needs to be able to handle his own. Stempniak is a nice player complimentary player, but he simply isn't a big enough threat.
I like him, but, he isn't a good enough player to player to be an effective top 6 on this team and would have trouble cracking the top 9 on a very good team.
