Don't you think after the trade deadline is the time. We need all these UFA's to spruce up their trade value from now till then, not advertise them by putting them in the press box

What Ference did to Stempniak was ridiculous, but I thought this was the second game in a row where Stempniak was not only out muscled, but actually bullied. His demeanour really plummeted after Dillon took him to task against Dallas and then once again after the incident with Ference tonight.
I like him, but that's why he'll never be a better than average, effective top 9 player

Flames have to totally dominate an entire game to get a win...they let up for even a few minutes and just get destroyed.
The Oilers won't win many games playing like that though...will be neck and neck for lottery picks

Those throwing Berra into the fire after a wacky series of events over a few minutes are definitely going a litle over the edge.

The Flames hit 4 posts, and then the Oilers' second goal happens. I guess sometimes it's just not your night.

This is just a step closer to the teams future getting better. WE knew they were going to be bad this year

Eventually the Oilers will be gifted enough high picks that they won't be an absolutely terrible team one day. I'm not saying it has anything to do with management, but with welfare.

I think he's struggling to adapt to the quickness of the game. At times he's slow to react to plays and on the first goal it was if he didn't expect the shot to come so quickly. That said he did rebound after the third goal and made a couple of good saves.
It sucks that our goaltending has been up and down.

3rd Goal: Just Berra.
Berra has been playing better than the hideous goaltending that some people are saying he's guilty of. That being said, the team and the goalie have a long way to go if they want to be competitive in a 60 minute game.
|
I don't know why Baertschi is being blamed on the first goal when he was the only forward actually backchecking.

Not a good game.

I have to challenge you on this. The Flames dominated the first few minutes of the 3rd. They were still playing well until Eberle scored and then they started backing off just a little. The Hemsky goal was a total fluke and it broke their back (play a great game and still be tied…I'd be broken too). Then you have the Perron goal and they had an expression on their collective faces like "WTF is the point of even trying anymore?"
It was one of those nights where nothing really went our way despite badly outplaying the Oilers save for 5-7 minutes in the 3rd. I don't know what to say about it really…time for alcohol.

For our players to just sit back and watch him get bullied like that sickened me. No fight in this team at all. People can bully our players all they want and no one on our current team will do anything about it

Really only the last goal was bad by Berra (though he did look quite confused on the other goals), but otherwise he was alright - made some pretty good saves (a few because he was out of position though).
Bleh second period and terrible 3rd period (except maybe 3-4 mins) - can't believe they let Edmonton of all teams back into it.
Baertschi is such a widly inconsistent player, even in the same game - some shifts he looks terrific, entering the zone well, forcing turnovers, good on the cycle - other shifts he looks lost. Wasn't particularly good in his own end today, or on the power play. I hope he can improve his consistency and hope that the coaching staff continues to give him opportunities to prove himself.

Seriously, lady, give it a rest. We got it the first 150 times you posted it.
And in case you didn't get the memo, a rebuild doesn't usually equate to winning every game. Relax.

Not saying that Berra is going to be the next Kipper, but some people have to quit with the hysteria. Just because Rämö or Berra has a bad game or are struggling doesn't mean they are complete and utter garbage and never will make it in the NHL.
|
Last year kipper was the problem, this year it's Berra Ramo... If we were to trade for another goalie it would be *insert name here*'s fault for future losses.
It's never going to end.. This team stops working the goals against happen.

The team started playing totally different after that goal...a combination of the Oilers push and the Flames changing how they played to that point.
Berra did make a couple great toe saves....and the second goal was a bit of a fluke...but no excuse for either the first or third...
