Yes and playing with the Heat as a LW too. He has been played as both wings and when you factor in the C's we are converting to W's, it's becoming crowded.

I think my point that stands is he is not a Calgary Flames drafted/developed prospect and that makes him more expendable then someone they have drafted/developed as they are trying very hard to show they have a good system. I think that's been shown with Max Reinhart recently.

Rough start. Less then 3 minutes into the 1st and two Heat penalties already.

Also, Astle is back on his cellphone calling the game. If anyone is listening, that's why there is poor sound.

He was part of the Iginla deal so there might be just as much incentive to hold on to him so they can show good value for Iginla. You never know. He's also a born leader, big, and can apparently play both wings. I (hopefully) don't see him going anywhere for a while.

Olson's goal on the PP. Ferland carries on a point streak, 5 pts in last 3 games (all his first pro points)

Billins is awesome. two assists already tonight. 11 points in 14 gp.

Granlund and Ferland are the two guys I'd be paying a little more attention to, as I think if either was playing strong enoughfor a stretch of time to warrant a call up, they would be able to bring some real offensive talent that could translate. Both can shoot the puck better than any of our recent call ups over the last couple seasons imo (not including SVen). God knows we could use some reinforcements that could actually puck the puck in the net.

nah I think you're reading too much between the lines. Joe Colborne wasn't drafted by the Flames and they are giving him a lot of opportunity, and it's hard to imagine that it won't be the same with Corban Knight once they have a full-time spot for him. Hanowski will be fine ... as it stands, he and Poirier are the only two RW prospects we have (unless you want to count Harrison who is probably 3-4 years away from turning pro). He'll get his chances after the deadline I'm sure.

Glad to see they're already up 2-0 again ... their start to the season has been fantastic, and it's a bit surprising to me because it's a pretty young team. Add Gaudreau, Arnold and Agostino at the end of the year and maybe even send down Sven after the Flames RS ends and the Heat might be ready for a really deep playoff run ...

Also, good on Blair Jones. He sure seems to pile up points this season ... would be great if he could earn another call-up.

Ortio putting up insane numbers, how has he looked compared to Berra in the AHL?

Stars score on the PP... just 2 seconds left before it was 5on5... Ortio's been standing tall, too bad on that one.
