Good riddance to MacRebound!
Never liked his play from day one, it looked like he was more suited for playing in the 80's than the modern NHL. Also never understood why Irving, or even Taylor, didn't get a shot over him last year as I thought they played better than MacRebound when Kipper was injured.
As for his comments after the game, perhaps some are reading too much into them, but regardless, he shouldn't have said what he did. He needs to admit that he played a poor game and not throw his teammates under the bus. I don't think the team played that poorly in the first, after all they only gave up 5 shots.

This is a good move, while we don't have any sure thing goaltending , we do have a lot of of goalies and it has been too crowded in the crease.
And even if the Berra/Ramo combo doesn't pan out Mac wasn't going to make it any better most likely slightly worse from what we've seen so far.

The Heat have signed a 40 year old (apparent Beer League guy) to an ATO for tonights game as Brossoit would not make it from Alaska in time.
He has officially been called up though and should join the team for the game on Wednesday.

It's too bad that we didn't get the same NacDonald that we saw last year.
He was never going to become the #1 guy, but the team needed stability and a solid #2 until the whole Ramo/Berra thing settled itself out.
Unfortunately, we didn't really get that from him. Oh well, time to sin or swim with the Euros.

Some of you are making way, WAY too much out of those quotes.

This guy parked in a handicapped stall today, and he got out and limped towards the store. I walked faster than him so I said "I'm walking faster than you because you're handicapped". He was pissed.
I don't get it, I told him what happened because it was the truth.

The Flames gave MacDonald every opportunity to take the starting job by giving him the bulk of the starts to kick off the season but he didn't step up.

I wonder if MacDonald had been told he was going on waivers before he gave his post-game scrum?
One thing that's been mentioned is that we never heard Kipper throw the rest of the team under the bus after a loss like that, but something to keep in mind is that Kipper generally didn't give post-game interviews except after shutouts, so we never heard from him at all after a loss.

Sure hope somebody claims Joey. Would be one more freed up contract spot, and no 34 year old journeyman goalie clogging things up in the AHL.

Sounds like he's one of those guys that's usually in the bare minimum condition expected rather than above and beyond. Have to say I would have expected a guy at his age in this situation with a starting job up for grabs that he would have really come in camp in the best shape of his career. Regardless I think he's done an admiral job over the past two seasons under the circumstances and hope that he get's another shot either with the Flames or another team.

Pretty sure he'll be claimed. Pittsburgh and Nashville could surely use a guy like Mac. He's on a cheap contract and easily an upgrade over Jeff Zatkoff, for example.

I am pleased that Berra is going to get an opportunity. I'd give each of him and Ramo 50% of the starts for the time being, and if they both stink, call up Ortio.
With all of these guys, you have to see what the inexperienced players have. You never know when someone will come out of nowhere and be a good player.

Joey Mac is a good goalie, and I feel he's better than the way he's recently played. I hope he gets a chance elsewhere. Also, I have a brother? Cool.
