Meanwhile Brenton does what Fergie and any person launching a book craves. He gives it publicity. I'm just using the same thing here to point out that it is a Liverpool thing. Notice it is only the Liverpool fans (yourself (when you're not reading about the turd-droppers in the local rag) and Nuje biting at Fergie's (and my, although I'm only doing it to prove a point ) bait.
Thank You for proving my point!
You gotta remember one thing. Before Fergie arrived, LFC was a great club with a great legacy. Over the last 27 odd years he dismantled that legacy.
You appear to have comprehension problems and are struggling to keep up suggesting that the Mirror is right on your level. No one said he wasn't a top player.
Besides, I thought you had me on ignore.

Why Brenton?

Where? I haven't read the book, but from what I gather it wasn't a comparison between Carrick & Gerrard -- The context, of why Carrick wasn't on the national team.

No idea why that constitutes a meltdown. So, why Brenton?

Sure, buddy, whatever you say. A supposedly grown man cyber name calling first thing in the morning is not a meltdown. LOL! He's lost the plot.
Why Brenton?
It originated from that being Liverpool series and Rodgers sad sack effort to sound articulate and cerebral when instead he was laughably confusing. Similarities were drawn to the UK office character David Brent played by Ricky Gervais except Gervais' character was trying to be funny, Rodgers wasn't.

Pretty common knowledge and a longstanding harmless jibe amongst people in the UK that follow soccer, which probably explains why NBC didn't know it ...........

Fair enough. I will say that you referring to him exclusively as Brenton sort of makes you sound like the Calgary Sun saying "Silly Hall" or Fox News saying "OBAMACARE!!". I know it's not your job to deliver news, and you're just having fun. I mean, I could just as easily refer to Alex Ferguson as Turd Ferguson constantly, but it just gets old really fast. I like a bit of diversity in my smack, and if I can't say something clever, I might as well just revert to Mr. Ferguson. I really do like that it's all the ammo you have at the moment though.
I simply can't wait for the match Saturday at 11:30. Arsenal away won't be easy

*sigh*...Ferguson was the one who compared them. If he played such a different role from Gerrard and Lampard, then why in the world would Ferguson chalk up his lack of England caps to Gerrard and Lampard's presence? Clearly he felt that the game of the two was preventing Carrick from getting on the team, but suggested that Carrick was quality enough to replace either one if he simply improved one attribute of himself (this...bravado...). I am allowed to call that a ridiculous statement, even if it came from the mouth of Ferguson, right?
Do also keep in mind that the comparison seems to have been overblown by the manner in which the press released the quotations from the book. But it does sound like Ferguson at least suggested that Carrick was more-or-less on the same level as Gerrard. If I'm wrong on that, explain, as I haven't (and obviously won't) be buying that book. I find his judgement was off. Much like when he appointed his successor at Old Trafford...

Arguably there's never been any real ammo Nuje, just copious amounts of hyperbole, schoolyard bully tactics and improper usage of ellipses, not to mention the rather dated usage of internet acronyms (LOL, etc) - I didn't think supposed grown adults still (or ever) did that.
If this individual was an academic (a stretch I realise, but bear with me) they be a sociologist. Rarely, if ever, is there an original thought posted. It is constant criticism and disagreement. Just like a sociologist who does not possess the logic, reasoning and critical thinking skills of a legitimate academic, this particular individual would rather comment, critique and disagree with other people's original thoughts than make one themselves, regardless of the topic.
Furthermore, what you tend to find in terms of critique is nothing more than a mere rehashing of someone else's more informed opinion(s), be it from Red Cafe, Twitter or some other web-based forum specialising in nebulous popular culture references. The very basic concept is lost on this poster, which is why, as you point out, there is currently a distinct lack of ammo. I would posit that this has always been the case.
But I digress. I shall go back to the more tranquil practice of disregarding and ignoring this poster. Ah the bliss!!

Surprised honestly, but why entertain such a vitriolic, saddened reply.
Moving on. Joe Hart has been benched this weekend.
Ben Foster should be healthy come the new year, whom I'm keen to replace him in time for Brazil.

Thank you. Carrick is the Xabi to Gerrard. Unsung. As talented? Debatable. Game changing leadership? Carry his team? I'm not biased enough to recognize who's the better.
Starting from zero who would I pick first? Stevie G.
My need is a holder? Carrick
