Good. I was hoping Bouma would get some top 9 time.

I just hope that D. Jones isn't out long. Going on the IR isn't a good sign though.

Blair Jones does two things - covers David Jones physical presence on the right wing and allows them to bench Colborne and start Jones instead as the 4th line centre. Expect Jones to slot in if one of Jackman, McGrattan, Colborne does anything to warrant benching

Jones being called up and not dressing makes a lot more sense than calling up Hanowski and not dressing him.

Let Hanowski keep playing in the AHL while Jones can sit in the pressbox in the NHL. This move speaks to the fact that Hartley's decision was to play Jackman, and they just needed another body in case of an emergency.

If Blair slots into the 4th line then I would like to see Street in the pressbox and bump the rest of the centers up.

Backlund
Monahan
Colborne
B.Jones

That way we can actually take a look of Colborne away from the 4th line.

Then again, we don't need Blair for that, Bouma could have centered the 4th line.

Can't bench Street - he is playing well. He is not wowing people like Monahan, but he is playing a solid, responsible game, and good play should be rewarded

It will be interesting to see on how the team adjusts to the fist real adversity they have faced all season, and I wonder how much this news will move the sport select odds.........

Why would we bench Street? Especially in favor of Blair Jones or Colborne. He's played very well in his role. I'd hate to see him "rewarded" with a trip to the press-box

So that the team can get a longer look at someone with more upside and longterm value?

Ben Street is only 26. He's earned his spot on the starting roster, and has developed his game in the AHL - which most rookies would benefit from doing anyways. Street is now ready; hence the point of 'developing' a player.

If you wanted a look at the rookies, there was a YoungStars tournament in September. There was also a prospects camp in July. At this point, Street is the better option. He's still a prospect in the Flames' eyes.

I was at the Heat practice this morning. Ward had a very very lengthy conversation with Breen after practice.

Glad to see that our 1st line will remain the same.

Bouma-Backlund-Hudler looks very promising too.

I think Colborne's play last night is best left as "Incomplete". I think we could evaluate him as much as we could McGrattan.

I'm not even sure I heard either of their names called.

I thought it kind of looked like his shoulder.
