Or maybe Cammalleri will be back soon and they didn't need a RW?

Because Horak's development won't benefit from playing limited minutes on the fourth line. He's better off getting a bunch of different looks and lots of ice time in Abbotsford than mostly sitting on the bench in Calgary.

Glad to see Baertschi-Monahan-Stempniak isn't being broken up. Looks like Bouma's getting a promotion -- well deserved.

B. Jones was one of the last cuts, it stands to reason he would be one of the first call ups due to an injury situation. And as mentioned, it looks like an opportunity for Bouma.

I hope this the right move.. I have a feeling it is more of a Hey four games we aren't doing horrible quick try to band aid for a few more games.. we need to ditch that mentality, it reeks of years past. Ride the kids who are hot, would have rather seen one of the youngsters come up but I guess somehow some way there must be a good reason for giving Jones the call instead. Ice time, or experience or something..
Sucks to hear about D. Jones, he was a real treat to watch and I loved his enthusiasm. He looked absolutely crushed on the bench as Ferrario was insensitively lisping off right next to him about the injury.

David Jones has had a "D. Jones" nameplate since the beginning of camp. Hmmm.

I'm not convinced Blair Jones sees a game. He'll slot in behind Colburne and Jackman.

Based on his play last night I'd say Jones is a better option than Colborne.

Based on less than 4 minutes of play? Huh.
I'm glad Breen is getting his conditioning stint in now. Hopefully he can get a few quick games in with the Heat and be back up to the Flames in time to send Smith down without having to re-place him on waivers.

Blair Jones has had a strong showing before, as well as a poor one.
I assume this is an opportunity, show how he is right now, if it's not good enough then back down or away.
There is still time for Horak and others to get their spot

Or meaningful time.
I would love to see Hanowski, Reinhart, Jooris or Knight get the call at some point this season, but at this point it is probably best for their development to play important rolls for the Heat.
B.Jones is a 27 year old career plug. He is filler and isn't really a prospect whose development is going to be hindered if he sits in the pressbox or only plays 3 minutes.

Jones was Calgary's best faceoff man when they sent him down last year. I believe his career winning percentage is around 60 percent.
I can't look atm, but I'd hazard a guess there's no one over 50% after the first four games. They've been getting slaughtered on the draws for the most part, which has led directly to most of the blown leads we've seen thus far.
The only time I can recall winning two consecutive draws was when they had the goalie pulled and had two cracks at it before they scored.
David jones won both of those draws.
B Jones will help.

Have there been any updates on Cammalleri or Stajan? Hopefully one or both are back soon.

Man if Colborne could add some intensity and meanness to his game that fourth line would be extremely intimidating. Big Ern, Jackman and Colborne can all skate well and they're all very big bodies.
As far as the Blair Jones thing, I'm fine with it Hanowski is intriguing but I think the time on the farm learning to be a pro is a great thing for down the raod.

IMO more likely he's just filling in a spot at practice. I'd more bet that they play Colborne or the wing and have B. Jones center the bottom line.
