He would not fit with this team. The atmosphere looks free of the coasting group that had become the norm. Decent defenseman, minute eater, but no thanks.

Bertuzzied = CP's Gallagher

Glencross is quietly doing little things right. Broke up some key plays.

Monahan... wow.

Weird to me that MacDonald is playing, thought he was weak in the last game... dunno why you'd be riding a 33/34 year old backup not particularly on a hot streak on a rebuilding team.
Any issues tonight so far? No

We'd like like a team that doesn't have Émile Frickin Poirier

I'm all for drafting Ekblad if your team sucks.

But if they keep playing this way all season long, this is a playoff squad.

Playoffs > Ekblad

I concur.

Whether he's playing with Stajan and Glencross, or Monahan and Baertschi, he's played excellent.

Monaghan is so heads up. What happens when he grows into a grown man? Will he be unstoppable?

To me, they actually have guys who play center, at center. They've moved out guys with low hockey sense (Jokinen, Comeau) and they aren't just forechecking 1 guy on the puck anymore.

Feaster and co have found players who suit Hartley's coaching style. While trying not to get into another discussion, it seems to me that it's only taken 50 some games instead of 246 for the correct players to be put in their proper positions.

I would take Russell over Bouwmeester so far...

I don't. I totally agree he's playing fantastic but to me that's just going to help his value at the deadline.

That's a potential long debate for another thread though.
