Shots 12-5 pretty misleading. Montreal got outworked.

For the first time in five years, I am excited about the Flames. I love this fast paced style of play. I love the tenaciousness. I love how Hartley is guiding these guys. I love the hope.

If we had a legit shutdown pair in place of Butler-SOB we might not actually be that bad.

I would be intrigued to see what Breen and Sieloff could offer in that regard.

Monahan is such a smart player. I don't see how you can send him back to Junior if he keeps playing like this.

I can't put my finger on what's different but the Flames' breakout and neutral zone play looks so much better. Lots more speed. I certainly do not miss Iginla doing stop up after getting over the blue line or Glencross doing the drop pass after achieving the zone.

I'm always excited, but this year it hasn't been dashed so quickly.

They don't dump the puck down the ice at every chance? David Moss isn't playing center? I certainly don't miss a lot of things about the way the Flames played before Hartley showed up.

Hudler is the perfect mentor for Monahan. Work smart and hard.

Softer, dumber and worse. Maybe smoother skating.

I think it's that the forwards aren't long gone out of the zone so early standing still at the red/blue line. The forwards are really skating up with the D. Before the forwards would skate into the neutral zone and then wait for either the chip out or for a low percentage pass and slowly skate it up. Anyway, interested in a coach's take.

Can't really say much that already hasn't been said about Monahan and Baertschi. Great to see them playing so well, especially after Burke took that public run at Sven I was worried he would get buried in the minors.

Weird to me that MacDonald is playing, thought he was weak in the last game... dunno why you'd be riding a 33/34 year old backup not particularly on a hot streak on a rebuilding team.
