I'll much sooner trust them (who's target is everyone, not just one side) than the Limbaugh's and Glen Beck's of the world.

Stewart and Colbert rag just as hard on Obama as they did on Bush.

Ok maybe not, but he's Bush, there was just so much ammo.

I guess I just don't understand the need for their liberal bias. They are comedians. Make the show entertaining, make the show about spoofing the news, why is there any need to be so left winged? When Bush was the president, I actually enjoyed The Daily Show. Stewart ripped on the GOP and it was funny. Yet during the Obama/McCain election, he transformed into the Democrat's cheerleader. If he's just a comedian who is trying to be entertaining, then just be that. No need to bring your personal politics into it. At least with pundits, you are expecting to get their personal opinions. They aren't thinly veiling their politics and calling it "comedy".

Common, you can't honestly say that The Daily Show had a liberal agenda during the '08 election. Sure McCain got ripped way more, but that's because he gave them way more ammunition. He made Sarah Palin his running make for christ sake. They still made fun of Obama's hope and change message, and they rip him even harder now that he's proven to be the same kind of corrupt shill politician like everyone else in Washington. Jon Stewart has been a pretty vocal opponent to the Obama drone strikes program, you'd never get that out of someone from Fox News if it was a Republican president doing it

It only seems like TDS and Colbert Report have a liberal bias because American conservatives are so completely ridiculous. Those two shows exist to portray how ridiculous modern politics and news media are, so how are they supposed to ignore how bat#### crazy the Republican party has become. In the rare occasions that you do have Republicans acting like proper leaders (like Chris Christie during Hurricane Sandy) Jon Stewart give them the proper accolades. And when the rare thoughtful and intelligent conservative guest comes on, he has a very good debate with them

It's hard to say TDS and Colbert don't have liberal biases. They do. Common, I love em, but be honest. They do.

I'll even through the right a bone. Stewart actually defended Weiner the first 24 hours of the first scandal before the truth gained steam.

However, and the Limbaughs and Beck's don't do this. He admitted he was wrong the next day, that he might have been biased, and made fun of Weiner as well.

But the republicans also do give WAY more amno.

Sarah 'I can see Russia from my house' Palin, Mitt '47% of the country is lazy' Romney, and not one, not two, but THREE 'legitimate rape' senators or congressmen?

Part of the reason the right often looks so foolish is because they are.

TDS and Colbert have also become increasingly critical of the Obama administration. Especially the drone strikes, and the domestic spying.

There are biased, but I do think they are closer to the center than many of their counterparts.

Yes I remember McCain being on The Daily Show during the election and him and Stewart had a pretty great, candid discussion. Stewart is generally pretty even keel I find, but he really hates on the 24 hr news stations for the reasons stated in this thread.

That scumbag Newt Gingrich will be a panelist. Presumably, no one else could fill the volumes of slime that had become the norm during Robert Novak's previous tenure on the show.

They don't need a scroll, it's permanently etched on the show.

Speaking of which, what a scumbag this guy is:

CNN executive Rick Davis previously told Media Matters that if Gingrich, who serves as honorary co-chair for the American Legacy PAC, "is helping fund a candidate and that candidate's on the show, or being discussed on the show, of course he'll disclose that. Disclosure is important when it's relevant." However, Gingrich has violated those standards since his first day of hosting.

As Mother Jones' David Corn and Andy Kroll reported today, Gingrich's PAC recently donated to the campaigns of Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX).

After the donations were made, Gingrich hosted Paul on the first episode of Crossfire's revival -- and discussed Cruz on yesterday's episode -- without disclosing his PAC's donations in either instance.

The rebooted Crossfire debuted September 9 with a discussion about Syria featuring Paul and Sen. Bob Menendez. During the program, Gingrich sided with Paul against military strikes on Syria. A few weeks earlier, on August 20, American Legacy PAC founder and president Mike Murray sent an email to supporters announcing they're "proud to endorse Sen. Rand Paul and provide him with a check for $5,000 to aid in his re-election in 2016!"

During the September 24 edition of Crossfire, Gingrich discussed Cruz's lengthy speech against Obamacare, and complained that the Senate has become "virtually a dictatorial system" and "people like Ted Cruz, they end up giving speeches like this and making noise in the media, in part because they can't get a vote ... If Ted Cruz had come in yesterday and gotten his vote, he'd probably have gotten 12 to 20 to 25 votes." American Legacy sent an email on August 29 announcing they're "proud to announce our endorsement of Sen. Ted Cruz along with a $5,000 donation to his campaign."

Issues with Gingrich and his PAC don't end with his CNN disclosure problem. Mother Jones raised significant questions about whether Gingrich is fronting a "dubious PAC" since "most of the money flowing into American Legacy PAC is benefiting vendors and consultants who have long been associated with Gingrich" rather than actual candidates. A spokesperson for Gingrich told Mother Jones that Gingrich isn't making money in his role with the PAC, and the group is building up so it can make more disbursements to candidates in the future.
