After flying a couple times I got the hang of landing. Now I'm a pro.
Can't land a helicopter on target for the life of me though.

For the flight school helicopter missions I found it easier to fly from the cockpit view. I thought it cut down on the wobbliness...still could only get silver though.

I think the problem is that the new turbulence they added for aircraft is way too pronounced in helicopters

I've never had a problem with flying in GTA except in GTA 3 in the dodo plane
Not sure what the problem is but I do agree the helicopter turbulence is annoying

Hmmm. I find that in IV I go out of control pretty darn easily and if really moving have very little hope of cornering properly. V seems a lot more forgiving to me even when I play them back to back. Maybe I'm out to lunch but I like it better in V for whatever reason.
On letting a 12 year old play....that's obviously a parental decision but for me no I wouldn't allow it. And hearing about a torture scene makes it even more so out of bounds for that age IMO. I haven't got there yet but just reading that comment made me think about how I had friends letting kids play Oblivion and I would think to myself that I really really hope they don't start the Dark brotherhood storyline.

I did too, found all the flying training to be pretty trivial. Did them all during a rainstorm too, turbulence! It probably depends how much previous gaming (or real life) flying experience one has.
Haven't finished the first chopper mission though, crashed while trying to be smart and go under a very low bridge the first time, couldn't land with the remaining time second try, then went to bed

Use both the analog sticks, one will move around the page as the cursor, the other will move the web page up or down

If some of you hate flying the Helicopter take one for a spin around the Wind Farms... that's fun.

From what I've seen people are just driving through the gate right into the hanger, jumping into the plane and driving right through the cop cars.

My most successful method for stealing the f35 is to fly a plane very high above the military base then hop out and skydive right down onto the base, toward one of the jets, pull the chute at the last second. Once your in a jet, get it off the ground, but fly as low as possible until you are a distance away from the base. If you gain much altitude the surface to air missiles will get you.

Use Trevor, he is the best pilot and his special ability is useful if things go tits up. Go to his airfield and use his chopper, fly low to the Air base, go south of it and enter near a red tower, just north of that is the airplane, enter the base fast with the helicopter and land just as quickly near the airplace. Don't use your parachute, takes too long. Run to the air craft and take off asap. The plane can take a hit from the missiles but not more then one. If you hear one approaching bank quickly.
I've gotten it once after about 4 tries... then as I was near Trevor's airfield again the engine cut out and I gently landed in a lake and died.

Ugh I want to get back to playing this game, but am just so freaking busy with assignments.
It mocks me from the television stand...

I found just sniping the guy then dealing with his guards was far easier then trying to chase him down on the cart

I haven't gotten far, I got the dog and then did some towing missions, picked up a stripper. Then went for a nice long drive with the rock music blaring robbing stores and getting peoples wallets back.
I loved the randomness of the game. I stole a fast car to rob a gas station. As I got out to walk into the store some guy hopped in my car took off and smashed into a police car.
