This is a setting in the actually SMS app. Go to menu/settings/soft keyboard type.

I stick with Swiftkey now, use to it after all these years. It works and I can move between typing and swiping fairly easily.

Wouldn't using one of the Excel clones for Android also work? I can open up and work inside my Excel spreadsheets.

Google spreadsheets might also be an option, if that still exists.

I just noticed in the "What's new" section of an update for Google Keep, it looks like Google is working on notifications.

Quote:
For example, Keep works with Google Now to remind you of your grocery list when you walk into your favorite grocery store, and nudges you on Thursday night to take out the trash.

I love Google keep. It has replaced my various notepad, todo, reminder apps. And it "keeps" getting better.

Never used it but the SwiftKey app is free on Amazon. Angry birds too.

Awesome, just picked up Swiftkey for free on the Amazon app store. Its easy to resize the keys, so its better than Kii.

Thanks for the heads up! My free trial had just expired for Swiftkey and I was minutes away from paying $3.99 for it.

It is worth the $3.99 though. I haven't used it in a while, and it has gotten noticeably better.

I haven't used stock in a while, but I love it. After about a year of using it, I can send entire emails with having to type maybe 10 characters. It does take a while to "learn" how you type though.

Is it worth letting you learn from Gmail and Facebook?

I use Facebook Messenger a lot to chat. Just worried it starts posting on my wall.

Awesome. Just turned it on to learn from Facebook, and within seconds it auto selected a word for me that I always use where other keyboards like Kii try to auto correct to something else.

Yeah, it's a paid app and doesn't do any of that crap. The learning thing works really well if you are in a specialized field and use your phone for emails a lot. For example, I am in IT and it picks up on It "speak" now. I type "SC" and it offer "script" as an option automatically.

If you speak a second language but use English as your main language it picks up on the second language as well. Pretty cool.

Still waiting on my Japanese. Shocking that there's no news on it really.

Can anyone recommend a slide show maker for the Nexus 7 tablet?

I don't need sound or fancy editing. Just something to show picture after picture and run in a loop.

Still amazes me just how crappy of an app Hangouts is.

Why can't they let me modify my contact list? They have removed the feature that showed all the people that were 'online'...so now I have a big list of crappy, unorganized contacts that it pulled from my Google+ account which I never use.

Just a brutal app. With Facebook Messenger you can create a list of favorites.
