Probably the best player we've ever had. Our one-man security blanket for the last 10 years. Thank you Kipper.

Thanks for the memories Kipper. You may not have a ring to show it but you won your Cup in 2004.

Living in Scotland I only got to see him live in the Dome a handful of times but each one was special. I hope he gets honoured for what he is and 34 gets retired. None of this 'Forever a Flame' nonsense. Full on retirement.

I knew this was going to happen but it still sucks. This guy gave the team a chance to win every time he played. They should retire his number at some point, I can't think of anyone more deserving.

And let's all remember, he was acquired for nothing more than a second round pick. What a steal that turned out to be. He didn't even take time developing, he made an impact immediately.

There is no one I enjoyed watching in my last 28 years of watching Flames hockey then Kipper. By far, the most exciting player to wear the jersey. I'll never forgot where I was and what I was doing when I heard the news we acquired him. He truly was the saviour of this franchise for many many years.

It's a sad day, but the end of this era was due. Thank you Kipper.

My first ever sight of real life boobs was when we snuck into the red mile as 13 year olds, and everyone was chanting Shirts off for Kiprusoff. I was fortunate to grow up with Kipper in the pipes and I'm sure going to miss him!

Possibly the best memory tied to Kipper.

Kipper's powers were so far-reaching, they gave a pubescent boy his first look at boobs. A coming of age tale.

He was awesome even on off nights, thanks Kipper.
My understanding is that he wants to raise his kids in Finland, so this probably isn't an option.

Iggy may have been the face of the franchise, but Kipper was the Franchise. Thank you, Miikka.
