Damn... why? They've got catchy beats and are hella fun to watch.
Oops was talking about spitfire as the intro and it still being good. I disagree and would like to see a new opening song. The guitar player in our band actually went to school with whitehead. They got a cool sound for sure.
Seriously...who wouldn't be amped after hearing this song? The only thing is the subject matter may remind the local native population of some bad history.

A slightly sped up an heavier version of the "nanananaaa" part of Hey Jude by The Beatles, but keep Paul McCartney's vocals, just alter the background sound a bit. But the na na na could end up sounding like a desperate attempt at another Chelsea Dagger. My other thoughts were Bat Country by Avenged Sevenfold or Right Next Door to Hell by Guns N' Roses, although the latter might be a better opening song. Whatever they choose, I'm sure it will be better than Barbara Streisand...
It's awesome! Just as I expect it would be. The only thing is I would have the instrumental intro first, then the chorus with the lyrics looped after. Just so it gives people a chance to get ready to chant along, and it makes it (slightly) less repetitive.
Some good picks by posters and great work by AC to show what it would be like. Sadly i don't think many will be happy with the tune that will eventually be chosen.
I am not a fan of the Fall out Boy song, but it will probably be better than what ever is chosen.
AC you might as well put together a video montage with Cotton Eye Joe so the masses can start to get used to it. ugh!!!
Isn't there a team using the Black Keys song right now? I thought Canucks were using it? Or at least did in the past?
Yeah you're right they started using it in March. Also Coyotes use (or used) Howlin' for You which has very similar rifts for theirs. Black Keys has been done before and we should stay away from it.
Sleep now in the fire gets my vote. I don't think the Black Keys is good enough to "pump up" the crowd and get the building loud. The song definitely needs to be load and "kickass"
I think some people are getting a little hung up on having some sort of fire of flame association with the goal song. "Chelsea Dagger" by The Fratellis is probably the best goal song in the league and it has nothing to do with Chicago, Blackhawks, Native American culture etc. It's just a great melody and chant-along hook.
Maybe "Howl" by The Gaslight Anthem, "Power" by Kanye West, "The Nights of Wine and Roses" by Japandroids.
That being said I'd be totally fine with either the Fallout Boy song on RATM.
