Trust me. No you couldn't.

The Heat had Nickelback as their entrance and goal song. Even as few goals as the Heat score, Nickelback got old very very quickly.

I realize some of you won't even be open minded to it because of the band, its not exactly my cup of tea either, but there is no way they're going to use heavy metal or old school hip hop that I like so I'm exploring other genres I know from the bar.

At the 1:15 mark through to ~1:40.

I specifically love the "Welcome to the new age, to the new age, Welcome to the new age, to the new age" part. I feel like that's very fitting for where we are at as a franchise right now.

Dragons is too slow, IMO.

Might be a good opening song though.

The Fallout Boy song just seems too wimpy to me, can't really put my finger on it.

I don't see how some are saying it's perfect. The tempo is slow too, to me at least.

As suggested ealrier in the thread, using Sleep Now in The Fire from 0:00-0:17, and then from 1:02-1:17 to me, in my opinion, is perfect.

I bet both songs make it into the final 4 and we'll get to hear them in action anyways.

I kinda like this Jimmy Eat World tune as a goal song...

I love this song, through I think it would sound better as an entrance song when both teams come on the ice.

I'd be very okay with this. It's cool, it's fun, it's not obvious or hammy, and I'm not instantly irritated by it. Win.

Actually listening to those mockups by tempz, I think Sleep Now in the Fire would work better than Light Em up. Sleep has better pace, higher energy, and is very simple/contagious for fans to get behind if they just use the phrase "Hey! Hey!" on for the loop.

Go Rage people. Do the right thing.

+1 for the Black Keys. I hated Shot Down In Flames because it was so bland and didn't get me pumped up at all - just your average power chord rock tune that you'd hear on Cjay a hundred times a day. Just because they're the Flames doesn't mean the goal song needs to be themed around fire or burning. It feels forced. Just play something to get the crowd going in what will likely be a season with very little to get excited about. That's all I ask.

Isn't there a team using the Black Keys song right now? I thought Canucks were using it? Or at least did in the past?

Submitted Sleep Now in the Fire.

There goes an attempt at making two of my favorite things come together.

I feel like there is a weird prejudice against Fall Out Boy. Say what you want, that song is pretty bad ass and it would appeal to a younger audience just as much as an older one.

Not sure that RATM has that same appeal.

I vote for the theme from the 80's Transformers movie, You Got The Touch. Pure awesomeness! How do you not get pumped up from this beauty!

IMHO, FOB did have a pretty good hold on the younger generation- 8 or so years ago. I don't feel like it has a hold on any generation at this point in time (this is my opinion, feel free to rebut).

Although yes, the younger generation has not been exposed to RATM as much as other generations. However, I feel that RATM has made and ever-lasting bond with the people it bonded with. I feel that this is also the Flames market and the people who can afford to buy tickets.
