Close between Seiloff and Poirier for me.

I went with Seiloff based on the fact that he has been trending up since being drafted. Poirier is a little more unknown.

6. Wotherspoon
7. Granlund
8. Knight
9. Sieloff
10-15. Horak/Cundari/Agostino/2013 firsts/Ramage - it's a tossup at this point.

I see Granlund jumping up the ranks this season, as he'll have a good camp and I think will produce some eye-popping numbers on the Heat.

I think it's like someone said in one of the previous threads, if the Flames had only one first rounder this year, and it was either Poirier or Klimchuk, he would have likely been top five in this ranking.

I think Poirier and Klimchuk get overlooked at this point because they were the second and third players chosen this year. So, even though they're still first rounders, they get ranked behind Monahan.

In a similar vein, fans have likely had higher expectations for Reinhart since he was drafted just because he was the Flames' first pick in 2010, even though he was a third rounder.

Knight. not sold on sieloff yet, have no doubt both will be nhl players but i dont see sieloff as a top 4 dman right now. plus i like knights game as a #3 C. it goes knight>klimchuk>sieloff>poirier right now even though i believe klimmer becomes the best players out of the bunch.

I'm pretty sure Backlund started staring in international play after we drafted him.

Backlund played for Sweden in the 2006 World U18 Championships, scoring one goal in three games. In 2007 he led Sweden to a U18 bronze medal when he scored a natural hat-trick in a 8–3 win over Canada in the bronze medal game. He led the tournament in goal-scoring with six goals in six games.[16]

We drafted him in 2007 after the Under 18s.

Went with Sieloff this time since picking Ramo is going to be a waste.

Had to go with Horak. Somebody who has already stepped up his game and earned some playing time on the flames isnt getting too much credit. I understand hes not the newest shiny prospect, but I think were prematurely going to start putting other prospects ahead of him based on their ceilings.

Spoiler!
That gif won me over and put him as my next player...I hate to sound like a youtube scout but the more clips I see him in, the more he gets me excited.

I personally don't consider Horak a prospect, and so won't be voting for him. He's the same age as Brodie, and has played 81 games (Brodie 104gp).

Agreed. None of Horak, Bouma, Ramo and Berra will get votes from me as I don't consider them prospects anymore.

I think that has most to do with most people not knowing much about them. Klimchuk especially has been barely discussed on this this board.

Nature of the game.

The difference between Sieloff and your typical physical defenseman is that most defensively oriented players tend to not be any more than averageish speed wise. Sieloff was the quickest of the defenders at the camp and he plays his position smartly. He's not your typical defensive prospect.

Ramage doesn't think the game anywhere near as well as Sieloff and gets lost positionally (I don't think he's going to be any more than a 6/7)
