Calgary Stampeders kicker Rene Paredes was named the Special Teams Player of the Month. Paredes has been perfect to begin the season by going 16-for-16 on field-goals including two games where he was perfect 5-for-5. Paredes broke a CFL record by hitting 31 consecutive field-goals that began last season, which was previously held by Paul McCallum. Through the first month of the season, Paredes leads the league with 62 kicking points.

Paredes' teammate, running back Jon Cornish, was named the Canadian Player of the Month for July. The New Westminster, BC native has contributed 501 yards and three touchdowns on 77 carries and 137 yards and a touchdown on 14 receptions on the season to help the Stampeders into second place in the West Division.

When asked if he saw Drew Tate starting Fri vs. Sask, John Hufnagel said "Yeah. It's not even a question I should have to answer." #CFL

I think it is the right call by Hufnagel telling everyone Drew Tate will be the starter on Friday. I am not a big fan of Tate but we all know from the beginning he is the starting QB from the beginning of the season. I still believe that you shouldn't lose your spot because of the injury. At least I feel much better because we know that once Tate struggle, Huf won't hesitate replacing him with Glenn or BLM.

If booker was on the PR, how does he get a nfl job and no job here?

When Stamps signed Booker, the DLine already have Hughes and Lemon at the end playing well and Bolden on the inside while Huntley I believed signed before him. He also have to beat out Cordarro Law who I think been playing well so far. With Hughes coming back, we might see Law sitting out. That's how deep the Stamps DLine are.

Good luck on Marvin Booker in Tampa. I hope he makes it.

Setback for Tate with arm. Looks like it may be KG this week against #Riders #calstampeders #cfl

Vicki Hall@vickihallch1m
Kevin Glenn to start at quarterback for the Stampeders against Saskatchewan

You've gotta be kidding me...

Has any team ever won the Grey Cup rotating three QB's?

Getting harder to believe Tate can stay healthy long-term.

I would like to see Mitchell as well, but this will be a lot tougher game then the Blue Bombers and the coaching staff probably believes Glenn gives them the better chance to win.

I'm almost willing to bet that Glenn and BLM will the QBs next year for the Stamps.

The drew Tate era looks to be coming to a end after what 7 starts. Frustrating thing is he is undefeated I believe as well.

It was rainy and a stiff breeze was blowing the last day or so...more than enough elements to injure paper Tate.

I think at this point the Stamps should protect BLM for the Ottawa expansion draft in December. Tate cannot be relied on to play consistently in the CFL at this point.

This is my thinking as well. As much as I want to see Bo again, sending him against this year's Riders D in only his 2nd career start could slaughter his confidence for a young QB. Glenn's the right choice IMO, as disappointing as it is.

I would agree if they were going to Regina. But this is a home game in a battle for 1st in the West.

The kid had an unprecedented debut, no matter the opponent. IMO let him show you what he's made of. One game will not hinder his development if that's what is being protected.

It's a luxury to have a guy like KG around but it's a weird message to send BLM after such a strong showing last time out.
