I'd imagine that's it. It would be really funny if he just came in for Stampede then left before his brothers wedding though.

Their rankings are weight by their accuracy in ranking previous drafts: Bob McKenzie's rankings carry the most weight as he's the most accurate prognosticator in the group.
Puts him right at the end of the 3rd round.

that site is a little misleading since neither Button, McKenzie nor the Hockey News had Kanzig ranked; don't know about the rest. #90 maybe a consensus of 1

Maybe it's the way he's being used in Victoria...that's a mediocre team and no dman gets much support there.

But you got to see him once, as compared to a 2-season sample size so its a bit early to be drawing conclusions.

He was one of the worst players in the WHL. Maybe he'll take a step forward...guys his size are often late bloomers.

Will take another look at him in Penticton.
Just came across this post and.... What ?!?! One of the worst players in the W?

Hes the Royals #1 dman and has been playing very well for a KID his size.

Also had been playing alot with Hickets, an under ager who his barely 5'8 and 155 lbs.

Im not sure what games youre going to Red John but let me know, i'll sit with ya and point out to you what a player with potential is.

Take it with a heavy grain of salt. I am pretty sure he is a "rockets" fan. It's no different from flames fans hating Cooke. I am sure Pitt fans did not feel the same way.

Jankowski needs to involve himself more in the play. He's got skill and it looks like he understands the game well (his defensive positioning is way, way ahead of last year). However, he is second in on the puck when it is loose and several times today the puck was gone by the time he made any contact.

He found space in the slot a couple of times and had good chances to score, but I don't remember him making many creative plays in the offensive zone or winning races.

Looks like you are right. I read in an internet article couple of days ago he broke up with some actress and they said he was working on a movie in Calgary. They have now changed it to his brother's wedding. Does his brother live in Calgary now?

Yeah they live here in Calgary now. The groom is a really good guy. They are having a really small wedding though (immediate family).

To say "the Flames saw him as a 3rd rounder" is fair.

To say "most scouts had him as a 3rd rounder" when that isn't true, and provide zero evidence...prepare to be called out on that comment.
ISS had Kanzig 74th. So solidly in the 3rd round

ISS had Kanzig above Poirier (which affected Poirier's ranking on this list) - guessing they didn't do their homework in Gatineau

133 games, 0 goals, -27 so far.

It's no wonder the Royals are a lousy hockey team if he's the No. 1 defenseman. almost 600 goals against the last two seasons.

Feel free to continue to insult the messenger instead of the message though, thats what CP does when someone doesn't go along with the groupthink.

Understandable that we're all starved for prospect success and want so badly for the Flames draft picks to pan out but to pile on someones scouting abilities because Kanzig apparently had a few good shifts in an intra-squad game in July is a bit extreme.

He has been a bad WHL defenseman the past two seasons...he may very well develop yet (and hopefully does) but he has a long way to go still.
