Talked to Conny for a little while after the last skate there and one thing I'll bring up his comments on Kanzigs fitness, says he saw him in the dressing room, guy looks like schwarzenegger, doesn't have an ounce of fat on him. Said Lowry raved to him about his skating and his dedication to the game.

I got to say, I agree about the skating. Awkward as hell, but he was actually one of the faster Ds out there in the 2pm group.

Agostino was a stand-out in the Frozen Four. Always 2 steps ahead of the play, hard on the forecheck & a good speedy skater. At the time he reminded me of Glenncross, but with much better hockey sense.

I hope he gets locked down!
I can't comment on the whole dad bit, but you know there are other reasons for prospects to go back for a final year at Yale, yes?

I thought same about Agostino when it took so long for him to do an interview after the trade, but then he said this:

The National Hockey League sounds great.

However, Kenny Agostino isn't ready to leave the Ivy League quite yet.
The 20-year-old forward has informed the Calgary Flames that he's returning to Yale to spend one more winter with the reigning NCAA champion Bulldogs and — just as important — to complete his political science degree at the historic university.
“It was a tough decision. It's a big decision. I went back and forth for a while, looking at both sides of it,” Agostino said. “Ultimately, after talking with my family, I realized I worked extremely hard at school. I might not be the smartest guy, but I worked really hard the last three years to put myself in this position to be one year away from getting that diploma, and I would really like to see that through.”
For that reason, he told the Flames, 'See ya next year.'
“They were really great about it and were really supportive of my decision, which was great to hear,” Agostino said. “I really care a lot about getting my Yale degree and another year of Yale hockey will be great.
“I'm really excited to join the organization next springtime.”

Anyone care to compare Jankowski vs Monohan?

Who is better, who has more potential, who is better now... etc. Curious...

They are close now. Monahan has more potential. It is surprisingly close though. Janko has 60-75 point potential, Monahan more in the 65-80 range. Monahan will be quicker to realize his potential.

Admittedly, I've seen only limited amounts from both Monahan, and jankowski, but it feels like Monahan is more of a sure thing, but jankowski had the higher potential ceiling.

I pray they both continue to develop so that as a collective fanbase, Flames fans can finally retire the "This team is lacking a true #1 center" chestnut.

Besides, we all know the next one to use: "Since Iginla was traded, this team has lacked a pure sniper who is a natural goal scorer"

May have already been asked before, but who would you rather have? Sven or Mono? for me it's Sven, there's just something special about this guy.

I could see Monahan and Janko being a well above average 1-2. Worst case scenario is that we get Mcdavid and have to shift Janko to the wing (mono is better at faceoffs)

Sven or Monahan?

Probably Monahan... Sven will put up more points and goals but Monahan is the jack-of-all-trades in the middle position. I'm a big big fan of his. But Sven is going to be a big goal scorer in the NHL. It's a good debate to have.

I hope Sven develops his two-way game.. on draft day he was called Mini-Hossa... and you can tell he has a passion to win not just a passion to score goals.

re:Monahan or Jankowski

The easy money is Monahan... but Jankowski is so damn raw. It's pretty shocking to see how much bigger Jankowski has gotten in one year but he's got a lot of tools as well.

Monahan is our best prospect but it seems he's not the only one, thank god.

Mono 10 times out of 10. Offensively they are comparable, but C's are more important.
