I'd like to see the Flames get Selanne and once and for all say that we have him skating on the team. I know the Flames had him in the sights a few times. C'mon Feaster, get'er done!

Still suspect Raymond signs with the Flames.
Generally a lot of the later UFA signings tend to be of the one-year, small money deal variety so perhaps that's what we see - a placeholder 1-year deal for maybe $2 million.
Wouldn't have a problem with that either - sure you want to leave roster spots up for grabs for a prospect in camp but you also want them to earn that spot not get it by default.

Like others, I'd really like to see Flames take flier on Peter Mueller, IF the price and contract is right.

I'd toss a two year 4 million dollar deal at Mueller and see if he bites. I think he has a lot left in the tank and needs a little stability to get it going again. At two million a year for two years it's a great opportunity for both the team and the player to really cash in.

Who would Mueller replace?
Push Backlund down and either Horak or Knight to the Heat?
If we could simultaneously trade Stajan, then I say go for it, but win or lose, I really want to see what some of our own young players can do.

Plays RW as well. We need another top 6 RW, won't push anyone down. Just need to move one or two of the bazillion LW we have.

I thought this would be interesting.
I added Hainsey and Zidlicky to get it back to 25. If this was the 31st team in the NHL, where would they finish 1-31?
Nik Antropov-Mikhail Grabovski-Teemu Selanne
Dustin Penner-Damien Brunner-Jaromir Jagr
Mason Raymond-Peter Mueller-Brad Boyes
Dan Cleary-Scott Gomez-Brenden Morrow
Milan Hejduk
Simon Gagne
Kyle Wellwood
Defensemen:
Ron Hainsey-Marek Zidlicky
Douglas Murray-Ryan Whitney
Wade Redden- Ian White
Goaltenders:
Tim Thomas
Ilya Bryzgalov

Detroit media saying they will re-sign Cleary, just waiting on getting rid of a player. Brunner won't return and was asking Detroit for 3.25 M per season on a 2-3 year deal.

Heck Horcoff was move-able.

I've got to agree I'm starting to warm up to the idea of moving Stajan. Sell high.
Although if he has another okay year he could get us something at trade deadline. Two-way center, willing to play any role. A little expensive and not too physical, but I'm sure there will be a team out there looking for depth at center.

One of Mueller or Brunner would be nice.
Both guys are talented and could become good 2nd line options moving forward.

Mueller signed a 1-year deal with Dallas.

I'd be very surprised to see Cleary out of Detroit. Good player and has been a fixture over there for some time. Plays well under Babcock too.
Wouldn't mind seeing Doug Murray signing in Calgary. Not too fast, but big, tough and experienced.

I still want Douglas Murray on the Flames more than any other UFA out there right now.

Jaromir Jagr's camp no longer feels that the #habs have interest in the veteran winger. However, others are said to be making offers.

I would LOVE Jagr on a one year deal with the Flames. Trade bait come deadline!

He'd work wonders for tickets/merchandise/jersey sales too! Even the roaming band of Jagr fans could be at every game! Green Men be damned.
Dunno if he'd want to play in Calgary though, but he likes playing the mercenary role, so offer him the most cash and he might sign here.
