Seguin is the joke of the day and likes to party but make no mistake he's a huge talent and lead boston in points as a 20 year old in a somewhat limited role. I think he'll blow away that 67 point season many many times.

He has since deleted it.
I was in the camp for the Flames to do anything to get him. Now I'm glad they didn't. He has alot of growing up to do.

So is he outing himself as a "joke"? I don't even get it. But he sounds really immature regardless.

It's a line from full metal jacket if I recall.

It's the second time he has been "hacked" and a homophobic tweet has shown up. Man this guy has some bad luck.
What's the price on the bridge?

agreed... lots of concerns, but as everyone here always talks about... its so hard to get a No 1 C, No 1 C's are never available through trade (other then Seguin, Carter, Richards, maybe Lecavlier, maybe Brad Richards) ... its worth the risk. I would be ok if we got Seguin, but I can see why we're better off with whatever we'd have to give up as well.

I have one of the craziest things just happen. I'm in the Spearmint Rhino here in Vegas just a few hours ago, chatting away with a stripper, she starts with the standard questions, where you from, why you here, what do you do. We get taking about the UFC fight, she asks why I wasn't watching the fight, I tell her I was here to watch the girls, if I wanted to watch the fight I'd be over at the MGM. So she asked what I was into, and said being from Canada, obviously hockey. She asks my team, she says she's from Boston. I tell her Boston just signed one of Calgary's long time players in Iginla. No idea, im not surprised. I say, Boston just traded one of your good young players in Seguin, she kinda smiles and she says he was supposed to be good. I continue on about how he's still young and he will, but there's all these rumours about his partying and how they put him up in a hotel with a guard to ensure he didn't sneak out. She smiles more and says she knows him personally, and her best friend is one of the girls he's getting into trouble with. She more or less confirms all the partying and girls related stuff. Says he's right involved in it all and I think said he won't get out of it and will ruin his career. It was so wired, how I just heard all this and she started telling me exactly the things I have just recently read. Wild. Anyways, thought I'd share. Pretty cool, she knew all of it verbatim and didn't know who Iggy was, so even though she's a peeler, I gotta say, this wasnt bull#### she was making up. For what it's worth.

I hope Seguin grows up a little more soon. Two stupid tweets like that even if they're from friends trolling your phone is reckless behavior when you have a global reputation. Keep your stuff on lockdown man. Great hockey player but your personal life will catch up with you if you don't get it locked down. Like it or not, right now his personal life is far too reckless for this social media era. And I get it, he's 21 and living the dream but there has to be some modicum of responsibility when it comes to the kids that follow him.

A team that is well managed like Boston wouldn't trade him without believing there was a major problem with him that was endangering his potential. That could be any number or nature of problem, but it's a good indication there is a big problem.
Feaster and the Flames seem focused on building the new team with players who have smarts and character, so Seguin would be the wrong player for the Flames' plans even if he is young, skilled and a center. It's better that they stick with their plan and not make such a high risk move at a time when their hands are not forced and patience is what a lot of the fans are actually hoping for.

Actually, I would. The best owners hire good managers and leave them alone to do their jobs. If the manager is unsuccessful, hire someone else but stay clear. That's my opinion.

In my opinion, he may hit 67 or more. But it won't be at the frequency that one would expect from a second overall. I think he would be a disappointment.
As much as we make fun of the oilers, they did right by choosing Hall.

Imagine the carnage of social media pictures showing a multi million dollar hockey player acting like a clown in downtown calgary, the same time that requests for public money are being made for a new arena.

I am not sure if I agree that this should be considered a 'high risk move' due to his so called partying ways. I know for a fact many of our most favorite flames of the past and present still like to party or used to party, and some of the guys who receive the bulk of the criticism show up in shape and train all year.
I think it is reasonable some players are not robots and do go out and have some fun, and over time they slow down a bit.

I think to much is being made of Seguins off ice personal lilfe. A 21 year old sports athelete that goes out and has a good time? That's shocking. He is not the first and will not be the last that likes to have a good time at his young age. I remember the same things being said about Carter and Richards. I am pretty sure they ended up winning a cup.
Seguin is still going to be a great player. Anybody on CP that would not want him on the flames because he liked to go out are fools.

Yes, that place is crazy. I have also heard some crazy rumors about players there (a few stags too many in Vegas), keep in mind the girls are mostly prostitutes and strippers all being told stories from other prostitutes and strippers.
If I spent $100 bucks there, a wealthy player could easily drop $5,000. Considering they are set for life, $5,000 easily becomes $50,000 (I am sure they are paying for all their buddies) and the rumors start. I wouldn't put much into what I hear in a strip joint.

If I recall correctly, the drill sergeant drops the line "only steers and queers in Texas, and I don't see any horns on you" or something similar, to deride a recruit from Texas, implying that he's a queer. I obviously can't speak for Seguin, but it definitely seems like something my friends might have done when we were 21, if I left my Twitter account open.
