Yup, exactly.
You don't work out a complicated trade, then go to your owners asking if it's okay to get this big contract.
You ask that first.
I have no problem with Feaster exploring all options, especially if it seems like Boston was the one who phoned him initially.

If Dan Ryder's biggest problem was being out a little late it would be a god send. The two situations aren't even close.

Perhaps the owners heard and trusted from higher-ups in the Bruins' organization that Seguin really is a handful and they didn't want that type of individual to be representing the Flames in the community. If Seguin did come here, he would be one of, if not THE face of the rebuild. Maybe our owners were nervous about that, especially since the last face of the franchise was highly regarded across the league and the community.

You obviously have any no idea what Baertschi is about, all you have to do is read or listen to his interviews, check out his twitter, or listen to what any of his current or former teammates and coaches have to say about him.
The kid is well grounded, extremely humble and totally coachable. Far cry from a "little whiny bitch".

I don't think that is the scenario at all. This is not Jerry Jones of the Cowboys acting as GM. If there is a transaction that could change the face of the franchise, it is only reasonable that the owners have some sign-off. In this case, it isn't only about the money (which ownership has shown it has given Feaster a loooong leash for spending dough)

Come on people... quit buying the Boston media nonsense. They tear apart everyone once they leave town (see Francona, Terry).

Wonder if this is even true.
Its from a Boston article and nobody locally has confirmed it.
Earlier this off-season word was the Flames were ready to spend to the cap if necessary...now they're barely above the floor assuming that Cammalleri gets moved at some point...$5.75 million per for your No. 1 centre finally isn't that high of a tag.
Its common knowledge that Flames ownership is very hands on but have a hard time believing that they're the reason this didn't get done. More than likely the Flames didn't have the pieces to compete with the Dallas offer, once they refused to move the No. 6 pick.

We don't rebuild by dealing prospects. This year is about re-stocking the farm. I'm glad we still own Johnny Hockey, but if there was one Bruin I would ask for in exchange for goudreau is boston's johnny hockey, that would be 'Boychuk'

Man CP is BRINGING the crazy in this thread.
- Trade for Segin being called "routine"
- Comparing Seguin antics to Dan Ryder
- Not wanting to trade Johnny G for Seguin, but wanting to trade him for John Boychuk
- Calling Sven a "whiny little bitch"
Seriously - CP goes off the deep ends, but never have I seen so much different varieties of madness in one thread.

I hope the story isn't true. It could also explain the Flames trading a 5th round pick to avoid having to pay Russell more money if he goes to arbitration.

Shame on the owners for not starting a CP poll to decide whether to greenlight the trade!
I'm pleased we got Monahan, and I look forward to seeing Gaudreau play in a Flaming C some day. Seguin would be exciting, but I wouldn't trade all our assets for him.

Sounds like he's waving his pistol to a lot of people..I suppose store clerks could be involved
It was the return that boston wanted that squashed the deal, I was told #6,#28,Brodie and Gaudreau was what Boston wanted...I doubt Feaster even asked ownership to consider it.

@tylerseguin92: Only steers and queers in Texas, and I'm not a cow.
He has since deleted it.
I was in the camp for the Flames to do anything to get him. Now I'm glad they didn't. He has alot of growing up to do.

That's the second time in two weeks he's said his twitter account has been hacked after a bad gay joke.

LOL, Seguin is such a joke. Dallas is worse off for trading for him. 67 point season be damned, I doubt he replicates that again.
