I really think Feaster should be focusing on the Flyers and their cap jail. To me, Brayden Schenn is a guy who could be moved given their existing depth at centre with Lecavalier, Giroux (who needs to re-sign), and Couturier. Brayden Schenn is schedule for a $3 million cap hit this year, and his brother Luke is another $3.5 million. I think there's a deal there to be made. Maybe a Backlund, Gaudreau, Butler for the Schenns type of deal. Luke is pretty useless and is making too much money, so the Flames would be taking a hit on that, but that's the cost of getting a young centre like Brayden. Flyers save a tonne of money there and pick up a good young prospect in Gaudreau.
Tons of guys they would move before Brayden IMO. Couturier is more likely to be moved than Schenn. But guys like Coburn, Grossman or Meszaros are most likely IMO.

I am OK with this if it's a short-term deal for reasonable money. No more than 3 years, no more than 3M per. Truthfully I don't think the Flames really need him and I don't really see where he slots into the lineup, I'd rather see us take a chance with what we've got.

Hometown players who actually want to play for the Flames. Big difference.

Never been a huge fan of his, hopefully if true he can win board battles this year. He's fast but what else can he do?

Why is he skating around with eggs AND tacks in his pockets? Just seems like a recipe for disaster! A real mind bottling decision!

So now we just have to lock down Okotoker and we're pretty much set.

Seriously though. There's a bunch of wingers that need to be moved now.

Wonder whats up Feasters sleeve?

Agreed that this move doesn't make much sense without another trade. I hope the Seguin rumors are true.

Does Baertschi get another year with the Heat?

Glencross, Cammalleri, Baertschi are the top 3 lines Left wingers.... Raymond would have to replace one of them.

That's my hope.

Something's gotta give.

Raymond had more goals in the playoffs this year than both Sedins combined.

Lots and lots of speed, though. I like how fast this team will be next year.
I wouldn't count on it. What we see is probably what we'll get.

It's all about assets and the one thing we have is cap space. I hope that Feaster can turn the LW surplus into a vet or two and along with some extra picks.

I don't see a problem with it, you get a player who has value for the cost of a roster spot and some cap room. It allows us to ship off another winger (I would personally target Hudler or Cammi) and realize the gain of assets (draft picks) without losing anything in the progress. It's not like either scenario puts our team over the top, but at least in this case we gain assets.
