EDIT:WHOOPS Fan 960 Speculates Flames and Mason Raymond Have Agreed to a Deal
Nothing concrete as of yet but hearing a deal has been agreed on in principle and will be inked tomorrow shortly after free agency.
EDIT: Bad info. Or pure speculation.

And yet another local boy. Interesting. Speedy, great release but plays a little soft.

Let's ensure we severely under or over react all day today before any facts are in. Don't let me down CP.

Can use his speed, but not sure where he fits on this team.
We certainly have enough LWs now.

Isn't this the new window where teams can talk to players but not sign them? I can't remember how it is supposed to work.

pending UFAs can freely negotiate a couple days ahead of free agency, but can't sign prior to July 1 (or July 5 this year). That's a new thing in the CBA.

On the right side of 30 - don't know if he is truly pre-apex but certainly not a fading vet.

This has been going on for years. The only difference now is that this year there is a 2 day window before free agency to get it done. So no they don't need the Canucks permission as long as he does not sign paper before July 5th.

I like this new emphasis on speed, I think it will work well with Hartley's system.

Yes, under the new cba, there is a negotiation window of 2 days when you can negotiate with any ufa. It was yesterday and today, deals can't be signed officially until tomorrow.
Next year in a non lock out shortened window it is supposed to be a five day window. It is much like how basketball does it.

Personally this is getting bizarre for me.
Over the past 3 years or so, players I mentally noted that I would love to see on the Flames and were realistically achievable were David Jones, TJ Galiardi, and Mason Raymond.
Very happy if true
