When he's not in the penalty box serving penalties.

The Royals are not a great defensive team despite having a solid goalie last year and a lot of that is because guys like Kanzig and Tim Traber were more interested in running around after the skill guys instead of just doing their jobs.

No way !!! We drafted a Royal!!!! Seen him plenty live. He is huge and stands out on the ice in the WHL. Last year he probably should not have been on the team but he looked much better this year. That said, while his skating got better this year, it still has a long way to go. Don't know where he was ranked but i have to think at 3rd round it was a reach. Make no mistake if you think he is the next Chara, he is not.
I really hate to write this because not only is he a Royal, but now a flame, but if he does not improve his skating, i will be surprised if he makes the NHL.

Weisbrod has been helping this team and the drafting has been looking good the last few years, lets wait and see if he develops. He is a young giant, hopefully he can get comfortable in his skin and become a better all around player. So quick to jump to conclusions here

You sure sound like you have an axe to grind with this player.

Wouldn't have anything to do with being a Blazers fan would it?

While I don't necessarily agree with the pick I definitely don't agree with the standard CP meltdown.
Kanzig is a high risk high reward type pick much like how a tiny very skilled player is. If the guy could learn to skate better and get a grasp of the game he could be a beauty.

People have to remember that Chara didn't do a heck of a lot at the time he was drafted. They don't even have stats on him for his draft year at hockeydb. I'm sure the Islanders fans (if there are any) were up in arms about how they wasted a pick on a giant goon.

It's a very very risky pick but we can't write the guy off entirely.

I know you are high on him but it seems like he's going to have to beat out a few guys to make the team this fall.

You're high out of your mind if you think Kanzig was rated 12 on their list.

How about you shut up?

Nothing worse on here than a whiny baby who makes jokes that are so stupid, they actually confuse people into believing you might be serious, which leads to a whole pile of BS posts attempting to find out what the truth actually is.

What's worse is this is the 2nd time in this thread you've dropped that idiotic "joke".

Klimchuk was #13 on the Flames list, and that was 54 posts before this one.

Quit bringing down the quality of discussion because you're butt hurt.

Absolutely, I'm just saying unlikely to make the NHL is par the course at this point. I'd have preferred someone with more upside as well.

			"He won't make it"
Have any of you besides one poster actually watched this guy?

We picked up three guys in the first, we can gamble on a massive, mean player to defend our youngins with a 3rd

nobody would take Andrej Sustr in three drafts, yet most NHL teams were desperate to sign him this year. You just never know with defensemen, how they develop ... especially big ones. Let's just be patient here.
But yeah, it's probably easier to take part in the meltdown now.
