Was just thinking what could the flames do to get in to the 2nd round?
I really don't think we have anything of our roster that could do it. With exception to players Feaster probably would not trade.
Would are 3rd and next years 3rd do it?
Damm just as i wrote this McCoshen goes.

Essentially Bouwmeester was traded for a 2nd round player not a 1st unless you believe Poirier was going to be picked in the first round by another team.
|
Well we have no idea where he would have gone had the Flames not picked him, so that is a total assumption on your part. According to Poirier, he had a thought that Montreal might have been interested in taking him at 25. Feaster clearly picked the player his staff had ranked the highest.

exactly my thoughts too.
respect is earned, and so far, Feaster et al, haven't done anything to make me feel that they are "the smartest guys in the room"...

Don't wanna go through 50 pages of fighting to get an inkling, any good ideas on why Shinkarukvhas fallen so much? Was surprised with the 22 pick, but way too soon to get emotional as many have. Kid could end up being awesome.

We have a valid reason to be sceptical of the talent evaluation of this management.
|
This iteration of management is honestly no different to me than the past 2 regimes of Button or Sutter, so far. I can't bash yet, sorry.
Darryl Sutter had a "5 year plan" when he became GM and took
Eric Nystrom at 10th overall
Phaneuf at 9th
Chucko at 24th
Pelech at 26th
Irving at 26th
Backlund at 24th
Nemisz at 25th
Erixon at 23rd
Take a look at that garbage. It's tough to believe drafting like that can be any worse, IMO. There's reasons to be optimistic.

There is no possible way to spin that otherwise.

Can there be a LESS physical Tanguay?

This isn't Mario Kart, we don't compete with a ghost version of ourselves. We compete with the other teams, relatively better to our horrendous past is nice and all, but I'd rather be better compared to our competitors.

Soft and cherry picks is my guess. Kid can score though.

funny thing about speculation is that it cuts both ways... he also could have been there at 40.
regardless, he is a Flame now, so we'll have to cross our fingers and hope that the scouts made a good pick

Giving up Schneider is subtraction by subtraction. If Luongo still demands a trade, today was a disaster for Vancouver.
