I'm not a victim and I can deal with it, but what I'm saying isn't wrong. I don't go around saying "LOLZ KOOL-AID DRINKERS!"
We have a valid reason to be sceptical of the talent evaluation of this management.

I am happy with all 3 picks also wish we would have traded up for Nichushkin.

Well Poirier just said he wondered if Montreal might take him at 25. So maybe it wasn't as "off the board" as everyone assumes.
If you have a list, you have to trust it. You never know who everyone else will pick, regardless of the rankings.

I'd love to see Feaster unload a roster player (Stempniak or Stajan) for a 2nd rounder, there's still some mighty enticing pieces on the board right now.

Overall very happy
Got a big C and plenty of talent and size up front
No goalies!!!!
Surprised by the 22 pick (obviously - who wasn't?) but he looks like he can absolutely fly

Feaster might talk a lot but I don't think you can seriously suggest that he'd lie about their top-13. Lots of people in the organisation have that list.

Had an idea!

I'm not sure how anyone here can say that Feaster hasn't made good picks. None of his picks have made a difference because they are still a year or so away.
But the picks he HAS made look pretty damn good. Considering where our prospect group was after Sutter left, it is the one thing Feaster has done well.

Continue to voice opinon though, sorry if I stifled any of that.

I want to be clear I am not critical of the players. They don't choose where they are picked and their stories have yet to be written. I am only being critical of the Flames for what I perceive as not getting maximum value on the Iginla and Bouwmeester trades. Essentially Bouwmeester was traded for a 2nd round player not a 1st unless you believe Poirier was going to be picked in the first round by another team.

Both sides are guilty of it and probably feel the other side is more guilty of it. As is human nature the side of the debate one is on impacts how we perceive the debate.
On with round two

Very happy with the picks overall. I really do think this management group has gotten their scouting right the last 3 drafts. I'm encouraged to know that they got 3 players in their top 13 list. They have done well to get the right guy and I think this will continue in that trend. Here's what I really like:
-They are all forwards
-They are all character players
-They all have attributes we need
-Wingers have goal scoring ability and speed
-Monahan can play in a meaningful way as soon as next year

I like Klimchuck. Great to draft a hometown boy!
Monahan, Poirier & Klimchuck are all Centres. The latter 2 are part-time wingers but have played quite a bit of C. Looks like the C cupboard is fully restocked.

It's going to hurt to see who Montreal takes with our 2nd rounder.

Glad we didn't take Shinkaruk, obviously the kid dropped from 14th to 24th for a reason and his attitude is something I wouldn't want in the locker room. As for Poirier, I'm intrigued by Feaster's comparison to him being a 'more physical' Tanguay. We dodged a bullet and selected the real hometown boy we should have with Klimchuck.

Poirier was just selected 22nd overall, in the first round. He is a first round player.
There is no possible way to spin that otherwise.

I like what we did in the first round. Porter is a players think we are going to really appreciate. I think he was taken at 22 and Klimchuck was drafted at 28 instead of 22 because of the Iginla factor. Take the safer guy to be a part of the Iginla trade.
