love it when posters trot out the line about "are you a professional scout" or "maybe you should be GM". Guess what? Neither are you.

If that is the way you feel, you are more than entitled to stick to it. Just don't ever criticize any trades, any coaching or any players play from this point going forward.

Because you aren't any of those either, so apparently, you are not qualified to say anything negative about it.

There was a couple teams that were in the 22-25 range that were looking at Janko including Vancouver.

So, I feel like we're playing battleship with Zykov here now. Of course, I thought that with Shinkurak as well.

Either way, I bet Feaster gets another player in their top 10.

Sounds like they may trade the pick as if they planned on keeping it you would have thought they would have picked Poirier there.

Adrian Dater:

I just spoke with Avalanche coach Patrick Roy (still need to get used to writing that) and he just flat out told me what his top three lines for the start of next season will be. Here you go: Ryan O’Reilly-Matt Duchene-P.A. Parenteau
Gabe Landeskog-Paul Stastny-Alex Tanguay
Jamie McGinn-Nathan MacKinnon-Steve Downie

Since we are all experts in scouting and drafting I disagree. Horvat is a fringe 4th line player, Monahan is a top 6 center.

Is it painful ALWAYS being negative?

I think Shinkaruk - skill with possible character issues - sounds like a perfect Vancouver pick.

If you read about Poirier without any prejudice, he actually sounds really promising.

Yep. The kid may be a good player but it's not good value to pick a 40+ ranked guy at 22 especially when you have 28.

I'll warm up to Poirier..he will be interesting to watch...and I do feel that maybe character was a big factor as to why Flames wanted him. I get that. Just hope we can get another good forward at 28.

When it comes to criticizing trades fans at least have watched and know the players. This is completely different.
I don't know much about this kid and I'll just admit as such rather than trying to pretend I do
