Seriously. Put yourselves in the shoes of an Avs fan. Do you really want Tanguay and Sarich on your team? If you said yes you are a liar.
Flames get younger, stronger, faster, and harder to play against. All while addressing a glaring hole on right wing.
Good trade Feaster, I like the cut of your jib on this one.
|
I don't know. Avs have a ton of young talented players that could use a playmaker of Tangs caliber. Not to mention they are going to add another top player in draft. It's almost perfect scenario for him. We get a David Moss with blown knees back.
Sarich seems broken down? Remember how we all thought Regehr was done when he was traded to Buffalo? Well... Anyway, Sarich is a warrior and a great role model for young players for a year if nothing else while SOB is a clown signed for two more seasons. I know which one I'd prefer to be my 6/7th defenseman.

Well at least we can celebrate when he drafts Fucale with the 22nd pick, eh?

He won't be the manager in two years, I have no doubt about that. One year is a possibility, but it's going to take a lot of progress for the Flames to keep Feaster around for that long (something I don't believe Feaster is capable of doing).
So some other manager will be trading picks to get rid of him in a couple years. How long is this Feaster's contract anyway? Counting down the days until it expires so we can just let him go.
By the way, I don't hate the trade at all, just countering how long Feaster will remain as GM.

You're likely right. It's too bad this clownshoes is in charge at such a pivotal time in the clubs history.

Outside of the Goalies and Cundari and Butler which individual would clearly not be added to a top teams roster ?

All guys listed above plus Horak, Reinhart, Bouma, Butler and probably because of his deal D. Jones.

It's more than just Feaster. Weisbrod is showing that he has no idea what he's talking about and King is scaring away potential help like Shanahan.

He got TWO 2nd round picks. TWO.
We traded him for negative a 2nd round pick.
Do people not notice how strange Flames' trades have been under Feaster? How he loses every trade, if not by just a little bit, but a lot?

Buffalo got more for that 'garbage' performance than we did.

We traded him before the season started, they traded him during the trade deadline.
Huge difference
Not to mention he was making room to try to bring in Richards

I like the deal.
SOB is a younger more mobile Sarich. So that is a win.
Tanguay was a mope with talent, but offers the same as many of the other wingers. Jones is younger, more physical, has a better attitude and a RH right wing.

Honestly, I would have rather had a 7th round pick or future considerations amounting to nothing. If that was too high, I would rather keep Tanguay and Sarich. Anything other than the kick in the nuts we got back would have been fine.
Honestly, it's not the worst trade in the world depending on what else Feaster has planned. As of right now, I believe this team is worse off both short term and long term than it was yesterday. Not by enough that it is a big deal, but enough that I feel like venting a bit.

Despite the Avalanche trying to get him going, he couldn't do it and it should raise a pretty big red flag and for 4 million dollars until 15/16. Of course he could turn it around, but given his contract its a huge gamble.

We also needed the cap space to try and sign (overpay) Brad Richards. So yeah pretty bad deal no matter how you put it.
Thankfully Glen Sather exists or else we could have been screwed well beyond Feaster's tenure.

The first being poor asset management and the second one being good asset management. You're right, huge difference for sure.

Is this something that is actually being reported or even speculated by any kind of credible source or are you just making this up?
Also, what is with all doom and gloom whining about this trade? People are acting like we traded our first rounder for Jones and SOB instead of a guy we didn't need or want anymore with limited trade destinations.
