Above kinda explains it but the one comment he admitted he would get in trouble is something along the lines of "How many people have been laid off by CP and how many of them have been engineers/inspectors?"
I think his biggest problem is that he can't inspect bridges, can't govern the CP in the city limits, but it's his people who have to risk their lives when something goes wrong.

He asked; with all the lay-offs at CP in recent time, how many laid-off employees were inspectors.

Sounds like it's going to be an all day thing for anyone trying to get around in that area you could be SOL.
Anyone know the laws on the Mayor telling people not to go to work? Could someone still be fired for not coming into work? (obviously doesn't effect me just curious how that works)

As someone who doesn't live in Calgary anymore I'd kind of wondered if all the Nenshi love was maybe a bit over the top, but if those comments are an indication of the way he does things I completely get it. That's awesome.

Maybe Nenshi could do a better job running the Calgary Airport.

I'm in the same boat and thought it was almost a little bit like the Obama hype of having a younger, social media, guy office. But since watching him closer with the floods he seems like a guy that cares about Calgary and the people in it. I'm now curious what he has to say about CP off the record.

I know that the comparison would be hard to believe (and many won't agree) but Nenshi reminds me of Ralph Klein sometimes. Obviously their politics are quite different, but they both have an ability to say what everyone is thinking but most won't dare say, and it only results in increased popularity. Other politicians will either tiptoe the issues all together, or backtrack on comments to limit the fallout, and suffer because of it.

Gross, Glycol is nasty and would be almost impossible to clean up.

Every crappy employer that forced employees to return to work while evacuation orders were still in effect or dock employees for being late as a result of road and transit issues should be named and shamed afaic.

The rail bridge over Deerfoot down there looks to be in such horrific shape, all rusted and crap. I'm sure it's fine structurally but it looks like it'll come crashing down at any moment.
