I would not expect the roads to be open at all today. What they are planning to do will likely take hours and hours.

It took me 2 and a half hours to get into work today along blackfoot. When I got here about 10 they were saying that its probably 5 or more hours to clean this thing up and re-open deerfoot.
If I leave right now I might get home in time for dinner.

Work downtown here, was able to get in the last 2 days which for the most part was probably more for the morale boost then actually thinking it was practical for my store to be open. Today....3 hours waiting for transit didn't get anywhere, not going to sweat it just going to stay out of the way to let others do what needs to be done. Hoping for the best on this train derailment.

Even though transit from the south is a mess, its still an infinetely better option than driving right now.

Totally agree.
Glad I loaded the Hobbit on my tablet this morning. I might have enough video to make it home tonight.

Thank goodness I live in Forest Lawn and was working in Airdrie. Smooth sailing but damn I feel for everyone effected. Traffic was a gong show. Worst I've ever seen in all my years in Calgary.

Took me 2 hrs and 10 min to get downtown on transit this morning from Somerset/Bridlewood. I'll have to leave here by 2 if I want to be home in time for dinner.

Tare on tank cars is somewhere around 30t. No way a Sikorsky could lift one.

Reminds me of when I was much, much younger. My mum is a big fan of Coronation Street, and I thought I'd do her a favour by recording it on the VCR for her. But I had gotten the names confused and recorded 100 Huntley Street instead. My family has always been quite non-religious, so there were a few laughs after that. /coolstorybro
It would be nice to have some live local coverage though, although until something happens one way or the other, there may not be much to report.

Get in after 3 hour commute and the boss says this has to be marked down as flex or vacation time.

I've driven from Airdrie to North Calgary and actually arrived earlier than I left.

Couple that with the usual line of "you should have left earlier" and that would be the biggest peeve of mine. Oh sure, let me just check the magical traffic forecast before going to bed. Tomorrow there is a 50% chance of a complete cluster&^#$.
