Premature of course just wondering out loud. What a fantastic leader for our city he's been.
|
That's assuming he would consider provincial or federal politics a step up. He loves being Mayor - as he always says it's the level of government that truly has the greatest impact on all our day-to-day lives and is not mired in the hyper-partisanship of political parties.
That said, no one knows his future plans, I believe not even him - he truly is just focused on being Mayor and improving our city - his passion (that can often be a cliché, but it's true - and after all, he is less than 3 years in).

Relying on just the police doesn't seem reasonable if people start returning in droves and have to be turned back.

I have no idea how they'll be utilized within Calgary.

Did he officially acknowledge that he's going to go for another term? I remember it being a topic, and I know everyone is talking like he is, but I don't remember the official announcement.

I have a question.
Why is our mayor so awesome?
Really though, I can't even begin to describe how impressed I am with how well the city has managed this diaster. It's incredible how quickly and effectively they were able to evacuate 75,000+ people.
He has my vote for as long as he wants to be the mayor of Calgary.

I also love nenshi. He is a great mind and a capable leader.
Odd question - I had a commercial building permit submitted on Wednesday last week, day before the flood. What's going to happen? Business as usual seems highly doubtful.. Will existing applications be:
A) ignored until everything gets dealt with
B) accelerated to make room for all the new renovation and building permits that are sure to be the result of the damage done
C) business as usual
??
It's pretty impactful to our business given the changes we were looking to make.

Great question. The municipal building has been affected and a lot of staff diverted right now to deal with the emergency. I know contingency plans are being made. The hope of course is to return back to normal business as soon as humanly possible. I'll let you know when I hear more.

What exactly is it for? If it needs circulation to Water Resources it could be delayed a few weeks on original time lines. A large number of reviewers are out recording flood data and crunching numbers.

How many puppies would Nenshi need to stab to not get re-elected this fall? Over or under 600?

Has there every been a politician so universally well liked and respected? It's like he is allergic to bull#### and grandstanding.

Bunk - There is a rapidly growing group of MRU students looking to plan a large clean-up effort for when the time comes. Who should they contact for help?

Bunk - I have two questions
. Does the mayor write his own tweets, the one this morning about canoeists on the bow was classic
. When can we wash our vehicles, my rig has now been dirty for over a week, this situation is getting difficult to deal with

Commercial car washes are open; they were expressly excluded from the water ban

That is a consideration, however, most of them are too far from my house.

So how do you normally clean your truck? Are you aware it's illegal to wash your car in your driveway in allowing the soap to runoff into storm drains?
Or is a "rig" meaning a commercial truck that you wash in a private bay kind of thing?
